that's true...in afl the top 4 are clearly better than 5-8, unlike nrl. Don't think its so impossible to win from 5-8, u just have to win 4 weekly matches in the finals in a row against good teams. We won 7 in a row earlier in the year and that included top teams.
It is definitely a tonne harder from 5th-8th though. Much harder to win 4 in a row than 3.
The title possibly isn't the best, I can't think of a better one though. But this thread is definitely related to the bulldogs IMO. He wasn't trying to drum up an afl conversation, just checking if any team from that sport who has had our current form for longer than we have has ever pulled off what we are trying too.

Sure did. That was the same system we use now. But you always hear that nobody has ever won the NRL from outside top 4. That's because it was still ARL back then
