WILLIE Mason isn't just a tough guy on the footy field - ripping his shirt off and challenging onlookers to fight him after being booted out of a Bondi pub while celebrating the Kangaroos' win in the tri-series final.
Photos of a shirtless Mason, standing over a man thought to be a friend with the police in the background outside the Beach Road Hotel, have been doing the rounds in recent days after the big Bulldog's post-match effort on Sunday afternoon.
Mason had been celebrating Australia's nail-biting win over New Zealand at Aussie Stadium on Saturday night with an all-day bender that took him to the Clovelly Hotel, the Beach Road and Ravesis.
Several onlookers told Confidential the Test star was escorted out of the Beach Road with brother Les late on Sunday afternoon by four bouncers - all in front of a packed pub of patrons.
"He punched a wall, kicked over a bike and then ripped his shirt off and started challenging anyone to a fight,'' one punter said.
"He had obviously had a big night the night before.''
``(The bouncers) just sort of pushed him down the road to get him out of the place.''
Another onlooker said he had earlier seen Mason vomiting in the pub's toilets.
A police spokesman said yesterday police were called to the Beach Road on Sunday afternoon to respond to a report of a male refusing to leave.
Mason could not be reached yesterday but Bulldogs media manager Chris O'Brien said his brother Les had told him the NRL forward was not picking fights.
"Les said he and Willie had a wrestle, just mucking around,'' he said.
"He'd had too much to drink, they asked him to leave, he walked out with bouncers and had a rumble out the front with Les.''
Despite that admission and the incident happening in front of dozens of patrons, Beach Road manager Tom McCarville denied Mason was thrown out of the premises.
"What you've been told is wrong. He left of his own accord,'' McCarville said.
What a load of crap!!!!
