We pay more money than any other team for our coach. That money wasn't just travel money but it certainly came into it. The club has to pay more money than the Roosters to attract the same player simply because of the clubs heartland.

Look at Canberra who struggle to attract any player, nobody wants to move to Canberra because the place is cold and boring.

As Gus once said when he was trying to encourage great juniors to sign with the Chooks. He would take them for a drive around Bondi, Randwick and show them the city. But when signing for the Panthers he ensured to take them straight to the club avoiding the area and it's 'beautiful views'.

Seriously though Des Hasler is a massive positive for our recruitment. People will move to Canterbury to play for Hasler. Same as how people move to play with Bennett and Bellamy.

Belmore is a perfect HQ for a player wanting to live anywhere in Sydney. You can live in the CBD, Northern Beaches, Western Sydney, South-West Sydney, Cronulla... man even Wollongong can be a 1 hour drive.

I think the biggest reason players don't come to the Bulldogs is because of the high expectations no matter what. You saw how fans treated T-Rex when he first arrived and under performed, he was made aware of how we felt pretty well.

So far though this simply isn't true. Des hasn't attracted any established player apart from Trex on massive overs.

Unfortunately the Dogs, if they stay at Belmore, will struggle to attract talent.

We have players that are great for charity, PR, promoting the club, being decent young guys out of the game.

Sometimes I think they should put a whole lot more effort into actually playing footy & get others for the good feel stuff (ie, injured players)

Question should be why our club struggles to produce our own players, we never won a comp by signing playes from other clubs.

We have stopped producing fcken superstars.. thats our fcken problem!
