Why does bing keep comming up

Guys, I downloaded that avg anti-virus and it got rid of a thoouusand virus/threats etc but i still have a problem.

Whenever i click a link either bing or santadom or sometimes even someother random site opens in a new tab along with the link.

Also if i google something and click on the website or even type in the address..I get the same thing. These freakin websites have commendeared my freakin computer.

What do you reccommend doing so i can rid myself of these pesky little bastards?

What browser do you use? It might be that the Anti Virus set your homepage to one of those mentioned (it can do multiple homepages).

I had the problem before i downloaded this anti-virus but i thought it may of gotton rid of it.

Not sure what you mean by which browser (computer illiterate).

I have Virgin mobile broadband and my homepage is ninemsn.

Problem is that it happens all the time and if i want to look at anything like type in an address for example then i basically have to type it in 5-6 times before i get the page i want.

i get what ur talking about. u click on a link in google and some other random site comes up...could be anything.
best thing to do is to get rid of the browser. and do a full scan of your computer. avg isnt effective in protecting the computer from virus's
get kaspersky, and BUY it. not dl, the guys over there are smart. you wont get full protection from dl'd software. kaspersky is working a treat for my cousin, and that bloke is the biggest porn watcher iv seen

Yeah that's what is happening. It gives me the sh!ts.

I have the full version of AVG that was given away for 1 day only..there is a thread about it here somewhere.

I will try chrome for a bit then and see how it goes.

I have used explorer for years though and never had this problem before.

nah its a virus mate. same thing happend to my cousin. and even if its full avg, its still not a great protection software. their database isnt up to standards when compared to kaspersky or norton. mainly because alot of people get the free version and the full verson of avg gets treated second hand. only the most loyal followers buy it. so they dont give a rats @$$ about it.

chrome is good, but firefox is alot better. and btw...what ie are u using ? 7 or 8 ?

its prob 8 coz u got tabs. 7 doesnt have tabs. lol 8s alrght. i still prefer firefox over all the browsers out there. coz its most safe. hahaha well try the stuff we told u n see how it goes bro

I downloaded IE.9 and i had Bing popping up all the time. It's a sh*thouse browser. Bing is just like Google, Yahoo etc.

Yeah it is either bing or santadom or vistasearch or even some UK directory thing..i think there has been others too.

I just searched through Google Chrome and it still brought up Bing in a new tab.

TBH i can live with it bringing up sh!t in a new tab cause i will just close it.

It's hell annoying though when you try and click on something and it says redirecting and boom..one of those pissant pages come up.
