It's auto v manual.. let's compare golf r manual. Everyone knows a turbo car loses boost between changes in a manual. Auto will always be faster..

Xr6 turbo, automatic is fast against the stopwatch but the manual is about 1 second slower down the quarter

Golf r is a risky car to buy used. Those DSG gearboxes go to water after a few years.
