Here are my top 20, in no particular order.

1. Listening to Rex Mossop calling the television matches, Frank Hyde on the radio.

2. The fulltime scuffle as kids grab the old cardboard corner posts at fulltime.

3. The biffo between Manly and Western Suburbs at Lidcombe and Brookie. Loved it.

4. Watching games from the North Sydney Oval fig tree.

5. Footy cards with chewing gum.

6. Mario and Tugger at Redfern Oval.

7. Train horns being sounded as they pass Belmore Sports Ground.

8. 3pm kickoffs.

9. Five games all on Sunday arvo with radio stations going around-the-grounds.

10. Coaches watching from sideline bench seats while lighting up a ciggy.

11. The Bears losing on fulltime.

12. Manly having money.

13. Canterbury being The Entertainers.

14. Semi-finals and grand finals at the SCG.

15. Toe-poking kicker goal-kickers

16. Three-point tries.

17. Feet-across-the-scrum penalties.

18. Odd numbers in scorelines.

19. Kickers using sand for shots at goal.

20. Midweek Amco Cup games at Leichhardt Oval.

Ah, the good old days. Everything just seemed so much better back then.

You said it my bro!
Man I also miss the shoulder charge.

I know everyone will remember $onny Bill Williams shoulder charge in the perlim final against Penrith.
But the best I ever saw was Brian Battese at Belmore 1984 or 1985, I can't remember who we played or who Battese cleaned up, but they almost had to carry the other bloke off in a coffin!!!
The crowd at Belmore went fucking nuts.

All 3 grades on one Sunday at belmore.
A footy match was a day out.
Esky, creaming soda and meatball sandwiches.
Playing footy on the Hill, while my idols played on the field.

There are a lot of memories from that list for sure, but not all of them are things I miss as such.

For example, I do recall listening to Sunday on the radio (lived in the bush) and hearing around the grounds, which built to a crescendo with a few minutes to go if one or two of the games were getting close... but I don't miss the fact we only got 2 or 3 games a week on tv and rarely getting it live (remember the old 43 minutes of footy at 6:30pm Sundays). Now we get to see every game live if we want.

(BTW, I didn't realise how senior you were, OP :grinning: ).

Best Bulldog moment of my life
Fuck that psychs the SHIT out of me. Gibbs the grub gives him the facial, then Nugget, a midget compared to Gibbs, absolutely FEARLESS steps in for his mate and pushes him off. The Ogre gets up and the GLOVES ARE FUCKING OFF!

BEST. FIGHT. EVER.

Beats all those pussy pushes that used to take place in origin.

22. Using sand to kickoff and when attempting to convert instead of using kicking tees @Vlasnik
