We really need to look at replacing Vaughn with a similar style player. We’re limited in terms of options but we’re gonna miss his PCMs and go forward. Thommo just doesn’t have the size to do it, and Max kings form has dipped since mid year. He could possibly be that guy but he needs help. we need another experienced prop to come off the bench and put in a good shift. Candidates:

- James Tamou - off contract this year and Could be a decent bench prop. Good leader,worked with ciro. Also liked the spray he gave Ben cummins
- Martin Taupau - meh
- Jordan McLean- was in great form earlier this year but injury prone. Could do a job off the bench
- Matt lodge- honestly he’s abit f*cked but he’s been good with the rorters, would be great impact off the bench

There’s not many to choose from at this stage unless we try get someone on contract. Thoughts ?

Dogs are searching everywhere for middles ready for fg but they are "hard to find" atm. Currently there are quite a few being tried that are still flegg age - Johannsen Bros, Kalati, Hopoi, Jack Todd, Bailey Cox Sam Hughes - hopefully one or more can step up and be ready to go in fg next year.

I think Tamou on a minimum wage 1 year deal could be a good move. But unfortunately we don’t have the cash to buy any true quality for next season.
We are so short in this area as far as quality goes it’s alarming.

Look at the current lot… all imports & the likes that have come thru the grades like Patolo’s & co are either undersized or just not built for week in week out NRL.

Once Bellamy retires, Storm will move form Melbourne (cause no one in Melbourne actually gives a shit about league) to Ipswich.

Agree TPJ is the only true quality Prop we have. Unfortunately his consistency is all over the place. He can be a 10/10 or a 2/10.

You need 4 NRL quality Props in the 17 every week. We only have 1 in the entire squad.
King has been good this year however I think he should be our 13.

The fullback and halfback are important and needed. However you could add Cleary & Tedesco to our team and they wouldn’t fix the problem. Don’t underestimate how important the big boys doing their thing is. This Allows the flashy players to play off the back of that.

I had huge for Patolo this season. I thought he might have a breakout year. Unfortunately for whatever reason he has gone backwards in a big way. He is not the answer at all.

Do a sneaky deal with Tigers for them to pay an immediate transfer to Bulldogs for Tamou.

Have James sit out the last two remaining games this season (as his suspension).

Then give him a full offseason with the club to be ready to fire in Round 1.

Tigers turned Tamou to shit. His Panthers stint he was still punching out good numbers, but two years at Tigers and he's punching out only 500-700 a season, compared to 1200 at the Panthers. Even his offloads are down.

Taupau makes too many mistakes and gives away too many penalties.
