The GOP don't want to be exposed for their complicity (in all its forms) of the insurrection.

As I've said before the best thing for anti Trumpsters and/or Democrats is for him not to be convicted, or kicked out from holding office again.

He will continue to polarize the voters and control the Repubs and send a lot more sane, yet fearful of what their country has become, Americans to resign from GOP and no alternative but to go with Dems.

Trump starting his own party only fractures further the GOP base and makes Dems stronger (providing they are smart with this and play it as cunning as Repubs have in the past).

Win Win for Democrats...why can't the Repubes see this? Power corrupts.

Looks like Donny’s defence team have jumped ship because he insists the defence should be election fraud and how it was ‘stolen’. Unsurprisingly he didn’t pay them for work done so far either. SOS Rudy! :tearsofjoy:.

FOX... You're going to need better evidence than this.
Hey man: ‘Justice Judge Jeanine’ - total cred :tearsofjoy:.

Funny how they refer to Cuomo as an ‘Egotisical, uncaring, cold-hearted political bully’ - er - Agent Orange anyone?

And the headline: ‘Deadly Lies’ - did Cuomo kill 400k Americans ignoring the pandemic?

I try to listen to both sides but the sensationalist hypocritical garbage Faux News run makes it near impossible. 3min was 2.5min too long.

FOX should be held accountable for spreading the "stolen election' nonsense and incitement as well.

Donald Trump's impeachment defence in disarray as lead lawyers quit – reports | Donald Trump | The Guardian

Donald Trump has abruptly parted ways with the two lead lawyers working on his defence for his Senate impeachment trial, a source familiar with the situation said, leaving the former US president’s legal strategy in disarray.

Butch Bowers and Deborah Barberi, two South Carolina lawyers, are no longer on Trump’s team, the source said, describing the move as a “mutual decision”.

Three other lawyers associated with the team, Josh Howard of North Carolina and Johnny Gasser and Greg Harris of South Carolina, also parted ways with Trump, another source said.

A third source said Trump had differences with Bowers over strategy ahead of the trial. The president is still contending that he was the victim of mass election fraud in the 3 November election won by Joe Biden.

It leaves Trump’s defence team in turmoil as he prepares for a trial starting on 9 February to consider an article of impeachment passed by the House of Representatives charging him with inciting his supporters to storm the US Capitol on 6 January.

It was unclear who would now represent the former president at the trial. His White House lawyers at his first impeachment trial last year, Pat Cipollone and Patrick Philbin, are not expected to be a part of the proceedings.

“The Democrats’ efforts to impeach a president who has already left office is totally unconstitutional and so bad for our country,” said Jason Miller, a Trump adviser.

“In fact, 45 senators have already voted that it is unconstitutional. We have done much work, but have not made a final decision on our legal team, which will be made shortly,” Miller said.

Forty-five Senate Republicans backed a failed effort last Tuesday to halt Trump’s impeachment trial, in a show of party unity that some cited as a clear sign he will not be convicted of inciting insurrection at the Capitol.

Palm Beach officials confirm they're conducting a legal review to decide if Trump can still live at Mar-a-Lago (businessinsider.nl)

  • Palm Beach officials have confirmed they’re conducting a legal review into Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.
  • The news comes a month after the ex-president’s neighbors sued him for violating a 1993 agreement.
  • After converting the private residence into a club in 1993, Trump agreed to limit his stays there.
I am so amused

And apart from all that, he really is the greatest president America ever had...

I don't know if I believe it to be true but F#$K I really hope it is.

Perfect end to the one of the greatest embarrassments in USA history.
When they write the history of Trump, he will be considered as a traitor in the same vein if not worse than Benedict Arnold and Vidkun Quisling!
