Only 2 or 3 for the Cows I think, including losing the 05 title to the Tigers.
He was half the player in Townsville he was for us, injuries started to take their toll.
He might not have been 'special' but he was extremely reliable and worked hard - a tackling machine - not unlike David Stagg - that's what I liked about him.

Sure - wasn’t making direct comparison between the two - more just highlighting that the non-flashy hard workers are so important to any team.

I really rated Norton
Ball playing lock with a good engine, even his kicking game was handy
Very underrated in my opinion

The most underrated Bulldogs player of the past 25 years.

Continued the line of great Bulldogs locks. Langmack then Dymock then Norton.

Injuries ruined him a bit.

Captained the Cowboys in the 2005 GF.

Played 5 Origin games for QLD but should've played more.

Shame he never won a comp.. was only 40minutes away from it in 1998 with us up at halftime in the GF..

What a fantastic player he was for us,
This guy always put in 100% and never took a backward step
He never really received the credit which was much deserved.
I remember those nice little off loads and running good lines

He was signed as a 5/8 to replace lamb and didnt really grab it.Then moved to lock and was ingenious move.He really took off and for a couple of years with us was one of the best players in comp.take a player of same mold any day again.great clubman and represented our fabric well.

Loved Norton. Don't think he's as magical as some seem to be making him out to be, but really liked him as a player. Was really excited about him coming in to replace Lamb and then to move to lock where I think he played well. Prefered Dymock there personally? Jason Smith also played there too, didn't he? Both on a higher level than him imo. Much higher.

Not taking anything away from Norton though as I loved him as a player.
