Where the Blues can win it is in the forward pack and our interchange bench i reckon. The forwards will really have to stand up an punish the maroons pack for us to have a chance.The maroons back line is way to strong for the Blues and if their forwards outplay the Blues pack it could get ugly for the Blues ala 1988, 1989. Should be a good series and lets hope the blues try a few new players.

Ok this is it.

Buderus MUST play 80 mins or nsw have very little chance of winning.

It has happened since the inclusion of gidley, and hornby last night. when bedsy is off the field, field position & kicking game go to utter ****e.

last night exemplified it. bedsy goes off for a bit & city come straight back into the game. he comes back, country get back.

i think drop the gidley inclusion & use another versatile back rower.

william i think your side is pretty much spot on. tupou will be there as he is playing for kangaroos.

if anyone played themselves into a spot last night, it was rooney. roberts probably played himself out of his.

Todd Carney is a five-eighth for mine with his real strength his running game... he is not an organiser and should not be picked at halfback

Gidley is not a half and should not be picked there

Kimmorley is over the hill

Finch can look good but his game self-destructs under pressure (the same goes for Orford)

i liked the look of Pearce in City-Country - good passing and kicking games and he combined well with Anasta

ideally though, i would pick Mullen halfback with Anasta (perhaps Carney) at five-eighth, Buderus at hooker, Bird at lock with Farah off the bench... but Mullen has been injured recently and has had no game time (same thing could go for Farah)
