Has anyone ever thought that maybe this life is just a test and the real life is the afterlife after you die

So we have 90 odd years (if we are lucky) to prove to a God/Gods that have absolute power and control of everything (including our "destiny") that we are worthy enough to spend an eternity in the afterlife with him/them.

Thats like saying you would judge a whole beach (eternity) on one grain of sand (90years).... and ultimately, you have control of how that grain of sand looks like anyway.

If this life is a test and God set the rules. Thats pretty sadistic.

But why do some get harder tests than others.. Why are some tests shorter than others..? Doesn’t make sense..
