Please Note: Sky Sports Italia have not said Manchester United and Torino have agreed a fee for the transfer of Matteo Darmian, a bit of confusion because Sky Sports in England seem to be running the story as it's a done deal etc etc

Continued talks have been held in recent days, by all accounts, they've been positive between the two clubs

The fee Torino are asking and the fee Manchester United are offering aren't too far a part

Originally, Torino wanted a straight €20m for Darmian, that has now dropped to around €18m with recent talks so the agreement of a transfer fee looks imminent

Felt I needed to make that clear, don't want to mislead anybody unlike the media in England..

Looked around and haven't seen much news on any incoming strikers but I do expect Woodward to have something up his sleeve.. especially with the persistent rumours van Persie will be sold to Fenerbahçe once a transfer fee can be agreed between the clubs

Hernandez doesn't look like he has a future at the club, was looking very likely he'd be sold but he broke his collarbone recently so that may put off any potential buyers from enquiring for his services ahead of the new season - the injury could possibly be a good thing if Hernandez stays at the club, remember how Fellaini was set to go on loan to Napoli then injured his wrist? Ended up staying and playing a crucial role for us and I believe Hernandez could still play a major role for us, he simply knows how to find the back of the net and I would love it if LvG gave him one last chance

If everything goes according to plan, we'll be playing LvG's pet formation the 4-3-3 so yes, it would be one main striker for the majority of the season unless LvG decides to change things up

Rooney still scored 14 goals in the league last season despite being banned for 3 matches after his red card against West Ham and played a large chunk of the middle of the season in midfield for us so I certainly believe Rooney's still a 20+ goals a season striker if he plays the majority of the season up top

Can't see that happening because Benzema already made it clear he doesn't want to leave, we included him in a swap deal for De Gea and even then Real Madrid refused to sell..

He could be forced out of the club, this depends on what Rafa Benitez wants to do.. Rafa wants Ronaldo as striker and Bale on the left but Ronaldo wants to stay on the left and Bale wants to move centrally as the no 10.. yeah, don't think Benzema will leave this summer at least

Not sure why anybody would want to buy Higuain, he chokes on the biggest stage.. did f*ck all for Argentina in the World Cup final, missed a penalty for Napoli which saw them miss out on Champions League football for the new season and just now he f*cking missed a penalty in the shootout against Chile for the Copa América final..

And not long ago Napoli were saying if anybody wanted to buy Higuain, they'd have to pay €60m+.. next joke please!

Higuain being linked to Arsenal is like Sneijder/Gaitan being linked to Manchester United - happens every single summer but amounts to f*ck all happening

Latest developments on Matteo Darmian

Torino wants €18m + €2m add ons, Manchester United have counter offered €16m + €2m add ons - both clubs are very close to an agreement

Manchester United want the player, the player wants the move, the player's people have agreed terms with Manchester United, Torino happy to sell once a transfer fee has been agreed - the transfer is very nearly done

Expect the deal to be finalised in the coming hours, could possibly be announced by the club either late tonight or tomorrow if things move along at its current pace

Sounds stupid to be honest, why would we not sign players just because of a kit deal?

Can't imagine LvG would be pleased if the board told him he has to wait until August 1 to sign players.. the club is currently working on deals, 2 should be wrapped up by the end of the week

The new signings need to immediately train with the current squad, get to grips with LvG's philosophy and most importantly the tour a great opportunity to build chemistry with the squad and cement a place in the 1st team come the start of the season

For what it's worth, Spanish paper El Confidencial are saying De Gea's move to Real Madrid should be finalised soon following the developments of Casillas' impending move to Porto

El Confidencial say De Gea will sign a 6 year contract which will see him earn roughly £67k/week (after tax), the transfer fee should be around €40m/£28.5m

Completely sick of this transfer rumour, just want De Gea's future to be sorted sooner rather than later so we can focus on the start of the season without the distraction of not knowing whether or not we need to sign another goalkeeper to be ready to start for us come August 8th

Yeah I know that's the basis of the rumour which makes the rumour sound even more stupid

August 1st is when the Adidas kit deal is becomes active, we're still going to be playing in our Nike kits when the squad goes on tour to the US & the club just announced that Depay will officially be unveiled to the press on Friday (still under the current Nike deal)

It's an absolutely idiotic decision not to announce new signings which also means they won't join the squad on tour, announcing new players on August 1st gives them just a couple of training sessions before our first match of the season against Tottenham

Imagine making a marquee signing like Ramos, not announce him to the footballing world or take him on tour because Adidas told you to wait until August 1st

Like I said, the rumour sounds too stupid to be true

Sky Sports Italia commented yesterday that an agreement was reached between Manchester United and Darmian's agent over the past 4 months, massive props to Woodward keeping everything under covers and news only breaking when the deal was more or less done

Torino's manager, Giampiero Ventura, confirmed to Sky Sports Italia that Darmian will join Manchester United - quoted speaking to Sky Sports Italia, "Darmian deserves a top club like Manchester United"

Darmian is due to fly out to Manchester in the next couple of hours to complete his transfer, he'll sign the contract and a medical has been scheduled on Friday

Hope this rubbishes those Adidas kit rumours about not signing new players until August 1

i personally dont really pay attention to anything unless skysports runs with it...and they havent said anything about Di Maria..
dont think we would let him go after 1 season...and he has stated earlier that he wants to stay at least for this yr...
i think he'd want to prove to himself hes got what it takes to match it with the best in the premier league...hope so anyway
