Hopefully we can get at least 40-50 runs off the last 5 overs.

Voges is pretty handy aswell down the order. Hes always Killed it @ state level. But considering this pitch we might need every single run.. India still has a lot of firepower

our bowling is very inexperienced. Something tells me India will chance down 320 to even 340

Yep its very vulnerable and they may struggle on this pitch. But if Bollinger and Hauritz bowl like they did last match then hopefully we can hold our own.

Yep, espec Sehwag cant let him set them a platform from the start. Bowlers need the confidence early on. 319/3 47th over

lucky escape for australia. They limited the damge from yuvraj, dhoni, and sehwag but
tendulkar scored 175 off 140 but it wasnt enough with no one else other than raina really contributing.

Lets just look at how amazin this game was in the context:

Australia:

Haddin: Surgery
Clarke: Sore back
Ferguson: Surgery
Paine: Broken Finger
Lee: Sore Elbow
Siddle: Strain
Henriques: hammy
Hopes: hammy
Johnson: rested due to ankle strain

There is even rumours now the selectors are going to ask Symonds to come back LOL!!

Now look at the fast bowling attack we had yesterday:

McKay: Debut
Bollinger: 6 matches
Hilfenhaus: 15 matches

Really, Australia are looking so good for the world cup in 2011 the way they are going. Really the only players from the team yesterday who would be in it if no one was injured would be Watson, Ponting, Hussey and Hauritz. The rest would not feature most likely.

Just shows how strong our domestic circuit is compared to the rest of the world, all these players will make the XI in most teams easily.

this is very handy for the youngsters considering the world cup will be in india/sri lanka and pakistan (most likely withdraw due to terrorism)

Tendulkar vs Ponting

No comparison imo. I'll tell you why...

Ricky Ponting can't handle external pressure. You put him in a situation where there are 1 billion manic fans who worship and follow your every move like a god and are expecting runs from you every single time. You make your debut at 16 and are facing Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis all at their prime. You are facing the worlds best attack (australia) over 20 years and still rape them.

I'm a firm believer that if the situations were reversed, Ponting wouldn't be as great as he is. The icing on the cake is the humble nature of the great man. Ponting is a great, a freak. Tendulkar is greater.

-------------------

Now to this match. What an unbelieveable game. India basically lost the match by not taking the poweplay when they needed 52 off 44 balls with Raina and Sachin set. I reckon if they took the powerplay then they'd have won with 2-3 overs to spare and Sachin "might" have nailed that double hundred. He needed 29 out of those 52 to get it.

Australia - will NEVER be out of the top 3 in the world. To have 8 blokes out and still cut it with India in India is just crazy. What a great domestic setup we have. The national academy is amazing and the thanks all goes to Rod Marsh about 15-20 years ago (head of the Aust cricket academy) when young blokes like McGrath, Ponting, Martyn and Warne were learning their craft.
