My favourite Bulldogs try of all time.

You can accuse me of recency bias - but no, you’re wrong.

Bring up others like The Gearin try, Utah slam, half a dozen others - but no, you’re wrong.

Just the fucking intent.

Which one?

Utah slam was regular season v Easts.

Gearin… good try but you’re applying big game bias.

No. The palm, the shoulder, the put-down, the celebration. What a fucking unit.

Front on shot - that’s the screen-saver for life.
The try in it self was top shelf. Gearins was unbelievable in a GF though IMO who gives AF though they all great tries

He doesnt play today and we dont win.
That’s just it. He was that good and that influential on the game today. I said in the other thread but worth repeating here that defences KNOW what he’s going to do, study him all week, try and negate him any way they can.. and he STILL does it to them. Very few players are that consistently elite and he’s one of them and he’s our captain for four seasons AT LEAST. I’m in awe of him.

Just to add, the grubber to himself was practiced in warm up right in front of me. We were actually waiting for it in the game.

Also proves defence is what wins premierships. The defensive display from the Storm that game chocked us out completely.

I believe it was more like we only had only one game plan, give the ball to Barba and let the magic happen. Once Storm shut down Barba, we had no plan B to go to.

Our halves at that time too were mediocre at best and we relied on our forwards to create plays. It was genius from Des but Bellamy is the best coach ever for a reason.

Yep, Hasler was easily out coached by bellyache that game

Utai Slam much better
Tonga burning Hodges
Barba vs Eels
Morris vs Storm

I could go all day
And lest we forget some brilliant Steve Mortimer tries like the one where he ran right through six Parramatta players to score. and the two identical tries against Cronulla on opposite sight of the field in two in both halves, just to name a few, for those of us who were lucky enough to have witness this

Plus those 3 tries you mentioned were in sudden death 79 playoffs. If Mortimer doesn't play that year there is no way the Dogs make the playoffs let alone the GF. Mortimer is to the Bulldogs what Michael Jordan was to the Chicago Bulls.

In good sides players kind of take turns stepping up to win matches. Last week Tracey. This week Crichton. Imagine what we can do if everyone plays at the top of their game for a whole game. We could win a Grand Final and I trust Ciraldo like few other coaches would have them primed to perform their very best in a GF

hectic, he must've seen some tape to know that was on.
