Bushdog...u must have started supporting the dogs sometime after 2004 because if you refer to the dogs last gf win in 2004 you will note that a player coming of the bench for Canterbury was in fact JT.........

our attack wasnt the issue
we scored 4th most points this year in the top 8, and wasn't that much between us and the rest only 10%-50 pts
its that all of a sudden our defense got shit

Correct mate and even back then I hoped we'd keep JT and keep Anasta at lock, or let him go. Wasn't to be unfortunately and the last 10 years shows the choice the club should have made. I've been shot down before for sayin that because ' Thurston was a rookie and Anasta was already a rep player'. Thurston has been a freak on the field since his first game. How much success did Braith have? I've heard the rumours about Coffs harbour but comin from a small town know what rumours can be like.
My first memory of being a dogs fan is the '85 gf, I remember crying after the '86 gf, I don't claim to be their biggest fan mate, but I am a dedicated fan and get annoyed when the team and club is getting ridiculed by our own fans.

Just had a watch of Barba's highlights in 2012 again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RffAff7gUBI

If you notice that despite the fact that our forward pack is formidable Barba is the go to man for almost every single play in the attacking zone, he was our x-factor as well as our attack as well as the only player that had a decent grubber kick. Keating, Reynolds, Inu, Morris all of them played off him and he played off the platform laid by our forwards, until we have a player of Barba's 2012 caliber again we won't find it easy to make it to the Grand Final.

B.Morris is eons away from that sort of form, he's a finisher, a support player not a creator. The fact we didn't go hard for DCE, Foran really worries me because we need a playmaker, Reynolds has shown over 4 years he is anything but a playmaker and in Mbye we have another support player. The only player that remotely looks like being a half is ironically Damien Cook and he isn't even a half. At this point i'd take Barba back and see if we can turn him into half the player he was because that would STILL be better than what we currently have. We should've won in 2012, but Barba was brilliant all the way up until that point and then we collectively choked as a team.

In 2012 Barba had 23 tries and 23 try assists, it's no concidence that was also the last year Josh Morris was a prolific tryscorer for us, Barba tended to play heavily on his side and created a shitload of tries for him. J.Morris scored 17 tries that season and has since then scored 5,3 and 9 in subsequent seasons. Our backs need a creative player and honestly i don't give a shit who it is at this point as long as we win

I would expect improvement. At least we know the lineup next year. MBye and Reynolds will get an offseason together as halves and it cant hurt. Im ok with how reynolds is playing, hes the 5/8 and meant to be running, not organising. Halfback needs to be more controlling and MBye needs to learn that. For me to date, MBye's best footy ive seen him play, wasnt in the halves.

We bumbled our way to week 2 of the finals this year, and also had some ordinary injury and suspension luck during the year, and lost the main halfback all year a few weeks from the finals. We could have had more luck and also played better. All the boys can do in the offseason is work on the play better part, you cant do anything about luck. We can just hope its better in 2016.

Id like to see Des coach the attack to be sharper and more flowing. Our lack of plan in attack surprises me since hes supposed to be a "super coach" The way Bennett has the Broncos running is great to watch. I like the way they play. Since im going to follow the dogs till i die, id like some coach to bring that to the dogs.

1:30 in Josh Reynolds almost destroys the try getting into a position where Barba would have to throw a forward pass to get the ball to him

I actually like josh at 7 and mbye at 6 with a deep backline like in the canberra game with chisholm as pressure on our halves if they arent performing and lane in the backrow on the left will give us lots of scoring opportunities and phillips/stanley in perrets spot ,hopefully perret in nsw cup helping our kids get ready for 1st grade also if jaline graham develops his defence he should also be considered

Hopefully Josh Reynolds goes to the Panthers or something and we get a proper halfback with Mbye going to 6

We need creativity. Wonder what Hasler is trying to prove by having the same team as this year for next year?

have a feeling we will be battling next season just to be close to the top 8, losing key personal and no recruitment has left us vulnerable next season

Yeah Agee agree. I'm coming on the kennel every half hour to see if there's any shock recruitment news. Our halves are a mess. I think if abbey has potential to be a ball playing fullback Hasler will work his magic in off season like he did with barba and we will be set. However the halves will still be a fkn issue.

The only thing these players will do in the offseason is learn to dance, sing, play the guitar, twerk and take Hitup after Hitup in the opp 20. All that with music playing from some shitty tower perched above Belmore sports ground
