After being involved in the game for a long time, I think he has been very controlled. Bellamy is worse and he is actually winning.
Bellamy trains the storm harder but they are winning so no dickhead repoter complains. Because tigers are not winning like the storm they have an agenda against him.
Classic example in the different types of players, when madge walked out after the game without saying a word, the tigers just got up and went for a shower? One of the leadership group should have then taken over
Very poor leadership there
Spot on mate, the cattle make or break a coach. Sometimes the coach is just not good enough, but in Madge's case he won the comp with souths so at least he's got something you would think. I actually like Madge, love his passion. Sometimes if you just got dumb players, it doesn't matter how good the coach is. e.g Bennett at Newcastle, top coach, squad just didn't respond. That's why I like giving coaches time, too many variables go into the results of games. Sometimes it's just not the coach. Another big variable has been the rule changes.

Lets take Pay for example, we finished off the season well in both 2018 & 2019 and at one stage we were one win away from 8th spot, he tried to instill the old Bulldogs grind into our play and it seemed like it was working for a while there, 2020 comes along with the new set restart rule designed to speed up the game and bring the best out of quality spine position players who have smarts, speed and a great running games. Guess what happened to us, we were left for dead. If there ever was a time in League history where you can blame the cattle, it's been now. Too many turds in our squad which have been polished to their maximum shine..lol

Exactly, i happen to watch about half hr of it yesterday and i thought jeez he blows the lid 1 too many times, looks like the players arent buyin it.. i asked myself aswel, was that blow up even warranted??
Having done a lot of coaching in Rugby League, but even more in Junior cricket, I can safely tell you that it can be very frustrating at times.

Sprays get limited results and should only he done as a last resort. Some players react positively to a spray, many just tune out.

The most important things are;-
1.Give a player a role in the team that is important, but also one that is within their range of abilities.
2. Make sure you spend plenty of time trying to improve your weakest player.
3. Don't allow players parents to dictate to you where they think their child fits into the team.

Players of limited ability who want to improve are far easier to coach than naturally gifted players who think they know it all and don't want to put the work in to go to the next level.

Agree with everything said.
Same, played both codes state and international and coached. Loved coaching but done my head in too .

For me theres 3 types of "sprays"
1. Take the piss (tongue in cheek) spray.
2. A stern spray (to get the point across)
3. Im fkn pissed off spray.

You need some nasty in you ofcourse with love.

It’s one thing to give a spray but you’re better off being direct with individuals and tell them exactly what you need them to do.

I think it has been fantastic
Madge comes across very passionate and a very good coach. He just doesn’t have the cattle or the leaders there to carry out his instructions.
As with the swearing that happens in every change room.
I thought the same thing he looks right into his job.
Do you think Baz would swear like that

He won’t pick out a player on camera, behind the scenes

I noticed the same thing with the younger coaches in my area,
they seem to be a bit careful not to upset or offend in particular teenagers or young adults players.
Tbh I’m really hoping Baz works out for us,the thought of change mid season makes me sick.

Games gone professional and considered a job so it can become a HR issue singling out a player. Like most trade industries the days of screaming and belittling people are being phased out by people taking the company/organisation to court/unfair dismissal.

I guess this is how they will end the documentary.

Wests Tigers on brink of axing Madge as support dwindles for under-siege coach

Michael Maguire’s time at the Wests Tigers has reportedly all but come to an end, with the club set to begin its hunt for a new head coach.

Despite being contracted for a further two seasons, Maguire’s future has been under a dark cloud ever since the club began it’s end of season internal review.

The Tigers finished 13th to top off a disappointing season that ended in a humiliating 38-nil loss to the last-placed Bulldogs.

According to a News Corp report, Maguire is expected to get the axe unless the club has a last-minute change of heart

The board reportedly met last week and according to News Corp there’s been a shift in support for Maguire.

The football committee was asked for further recommendations surrounding Maguire and those recommendations will be put to the board, who will ultimately make the call.

Fox League’s James Hooper expects Maguire to finish up at the Tigers within the next seven days.

“I don’t like to say it because I have the upmost time and respect for Madge as a coach and also as a bloke, but I would be surprised if Madge is at the Tigers beyond the end of this week,” he told Triple M.

“Their review has been ongoing of the football department, it’s been all-encompassing.

Originally we were told it was going to be CEO Justin Pascoe and head of football Adam Hartigan doing it, then we learned the chairman Lee Hagipantellis, Tim Sheens and one of the board members were also involved in the process as well.

“So I think the Tigers will have a board meeting later this week. The board hasn’t rubber stamped or ratified anything yet, but that’s the way it looks as though the cards are going to fall.”

News Corp reports Panthers assistant Cameron Ciraldo is at the top of the Tigers’ coaching wish list, however if he opts to remain under Ivan Cleary, the likes of Super League coaches Steve McNamara and Kristian Woolf as well as the England international team’s coach Shaun Wane are all said to be in the mix.

The Tigers brought back their 2005 premiership-winning coach Tim Sheens this year in a head of football performance role.

However Hooper expects that role will be expanded.

“I think one that will shake out of it is on the back of the decision around Madge, I don’t think they’ll make the announcement immediately, but the way it’s tracking is that Sheens will end up being the coaching director,” he said.

“Whatever title they want to give him, he’s going to be sitting over the top of everything in relation to the football club and that’s a good thing.

Looks like the plan might fall into place for us, all we need now is shane Flanagan to become head coach and take his fucken son with him. Good days ahead hopefully

Tigers are keeping Madge now. They back flipped on sacking him. The Tigers are a mess of a club.
Maybe because they thought they might pinch Ciraldo from Penif but he has already signed with us...
