Hutch would almost be leading the club in missed tackles and as for communication, Taaffe is doing a good job organising defense so I can’t see it being a problem. He was the NSW under 19’s halfback.
With our existing 5/8. What a great roster position we are in to give this a try over a poor Hutch who doesn't have all the skills now required for the team.

If he communicates from FB he must be a talker. Taafe would absolutely relish the chance to play his original position before Souths moved him to FB.
Defence did look better yesterday with Tracey at the back too. Just saying…..

Performances in the juniors don’t necessarily translate into first grade. Do you remember a guy by the name Michael Lichaa? Or even Brandon Wakeham? They were hyped up so much in juniors
We r talking about a combination of players already playing FG u r talking about an omelette

Difference between them is Taafe is a proven first grader?
Edit: at least with us.
Taaffe is hardly proven at this point. Especially in the halves. I don’t think he’s ever played there at NRL level

I only said proven first grader (with us).

Souths changed his position he came into grade with originally.
None of us know if he'd make it as a first grade 7 but he did play there with Souths over the course of his time there.
It's not as tho fans think Taafe is another Cleary.
It's more that most can see Hutch is not the guy to take us further and we need an option until Woods etc ready.

Tracey without question. Taaffe has done some 'good' things, but still too many shit errors to warrant a garuanteed start.

Tracey is a natural there and should be first on the team sheet every week unless injured.

That cannot be understated, we are small up front so we either need that momentum to start us off, or go with the quick shift to the edges where xerri / critta / kikz can just dominate
I definitely think we need to go with a power game at the back as it actually suits the roster we have and modern day football. Panthers have done it for years so you'd think it would be something we'd actively look to replicate but apparently not.

Tracey for mine maybe Papali'i later in the season. As for Taffe give him a run in the halves at NSW level before talking him up as an NRL half back. For mine the fullback race is between Tracey and Papali'i after round 11, so now is the time to play Taffe in the halves at NSW Cup level. Taffe in the halves along side Sexton or O'Niell, if Hutch gets dropped he can be played as a specialist utility since CC likes them so much.

I don't agree with that thinking. The best first half we have had was when Mann started at lock. We were all over the Roosters well before they started losing players.
Mann is a great link man in attack and can allow our halves to be second receiver in attacking plays. Look at how Kikau was finally unlocked.
Mann should be playing 65 mins each week with Curran part of the prop rotation
Yeah I don't disagree in regards to how good we looked with Mann at lock but I just think it played out well for him that game given we were having the better of field position. Given we don't have dominate props we probably need that 3rd big body in the middle more often than not?

Posted it before the season even started, Crichton in the centres, Tracey at fullback and Taaffe at 1/2.

Tracey looks more confident and doesnt lose ground when tackled , Xerri and JAC looked like goods last nite moving well together. You could see when Xerri had 1st or 2nd run didnt pass and Carr patted him on the head and said next time. Bra, edited i forgot the Bra.

Tracey went out there to say to CC this is my spot, put Taafe on the bench and give a run at hb let Hutch know he needs to mix his attacking game up a bit.
