Can’t someone just post the video without having to create a 9 now account?

For those who don't want to sit through 15+ mins of ads:
  • Beating ourselves Can't get 50/50 of the footy too many penalties/ turnover possession/ 6 to to go
  • (We are dead last in that area)
  • Talks about the right purchases
  • But still, need to keep the effort and intent up
  • All the signings we have picked up meet our needs to be able to get points on the board
  • Spoke about the mood after all the losses - tries to stay positive and gives them the answers they're looking for.
  • Great work between Gus and Trent
  • Sounds like they have a good relationship which lets Trent focus on coaching

It is very true, every player is different in how they need to be coached. Alot of the islander boys need the soft approach and they don’t respond to the hard ass coach. Other players do, this is where the good coaches get the most out of their players.

Great summary mate, and just for the benefit of others that aren’t going to view the video he also mentioned Gus has taken a lot off his plate and allowed him to focus on other things. Sounds like no GM of football was taking a toll on his workload.

Yea Phil was quite cause not much he can asked that he hasn’t. He prob shouldn’t have asked any questions tbh. But overall he didn’t say anything diff to what he has been saying all year. I hope for our sake and his sake he can turn things around or he’ll be nothing but a assistant his whole life

The adds wouldn't stop.

Bring on the changes for any number of reasons:
- last weekend’s performance against Sharks (with a couple of notable exceptions) was pathetic even by our 2021 standards
- we have nothing meaningful left to play for this season other than an outside chance of avoiding the spoon
- we’ve got about 13 blokes sitting around in a bubble with no Reggies games for ?2 months. For fs give them a chance! (Well, mainly the ones who haven’t already been given a dozen chances and done stuff all).
- sends a clear message that crap performances will NOT be tolerated from this point forward.

What u need to do is the bait and switch.
Bring them in with the promise of love and affection and once they are settled flog the shot out of them. Once you get their trust first you have more free reign to push them and be hard on them psychologically.
I sometimes think you’re too soft on the kids and that’s why they get complacent.
In your example, remind the islanders what life is like for the commoner as opposed to the nrl life.
That’s how you get your players and then get the best out of them and this is one of many reasons why I’m considered by many to be a future coach.
