When your team is dominated 60-40 in possession, and gives away 2000m while only making just over 1000m, then you shouldnt be blooding anyone. We saw what happened to Sam Walker the other day. This kid looks talented, but needs a good team around him. Going out there and getting steam rolled isnt helping anyone.

If we improve our line up then a bench spot next year would help him way more then playing full games this year.

Give him a shot I reckon. You'll never know if its too soon if you dont give him a crack. If he's overwhelmed or doesn't handle it or he thinks he needs more time, then, it's too soon. Some people love the challenge and rise to the occasion. lets face it, he wouldn't have to do much to be better than what we have currently.

we know what happens when you play a number of rookies in the team at once, spanked 66 to nil. As you say if at all possible you have to bring these guys on slowing so they can develop their game and build confidence.

Move Averillo to FB and BBO to Half with Lewis at 5/8.
Move Flanagan to Massey Cup or back home to his drug-cheat father.
This is exactly what I would be doing.

We have the spoon wrapped up.

Barrett needs to unleash the shackles. Tell them to go and play eyes up footy. Drop the structures.

Test Averillo at fullback when it doesn’t matter.
Give BBO a chance to show what he has.
Give Lewis another run at least defensively he should hold things up.

I know it’s under shit conditions. But if this kid has the qualities I’m hearing throw him in the number 7 or 6 and let him play his natural game for remainder of the season. Get him used to the speed and skill of NRL
Isn't that what we did with Ben Barba & Jamal Idris at the end of 2008?

Manly with Turbo are too good for most teams, experienced or not, Thats why they score tries at will and have won by 50 the last few games

Just like Folkes shielded Barba in 2008 from the kennels consistent dribble we should not be blooding these kids in the NRL.
Barba AND Idris were given time at the end of 2008 to see what they could do. They weren't ready but got a bit out of it.

If the nrlol gets rid of some of the recent rule changes, yeah give him a bench spot. Otherwise no, he needs more development.

Has he even played reserve grade yet?
These promising kids need time to develop with occasional exposure to first grade.
Starting him would likely do more harm than good

Ideally you would wait, but these aren't ideal circumstances. No matter who we pick they are gonna be young and inexperienced. If nothing else,it will show him exactly the areas he needs to improve. No one is experienced at anything until they try it.

Just on the fact that he was able to roll a grubber through the d line he should be in the 17 every week moving forward.

He would be on a hiding to nothing playing in the halves in this team.

Its more than likely going to shatter his confidence and could potentially ruin his career before its even started.
He needs a full season in reserve grade.
Learn to read the game and work on his skills under Potter.

Absolutely this kid needs to find his feet and dominate the lower grade before being promoted.

Exactly. What’s will. all these stupid posts wanting us to throw kids into this toxic team. Will Do More harm than good. Give them more games in lower grades to develop their game and give them another big off season to prepare for first grade.
