News Sonny Bill and the 2004 premiership: Pangai jnr reveals why he chose the Bulldogs

Didn't know he lived locally as a kid. Anyone know if he was a doggies fan as a kid? How long did he live in the area?

Definite plus, having some connection.

Born in Ashfield, that's our territory, moved to Newcastle when he was a teenager.

Always a Bulldog

I swear if Roosters didn't have Crichton, Radley and Tupouniua, Sonny would be directing him to the Roosters. We only got him because our only competition were the perennial underachievers, "the 12th on the ladder postion specialists" , "There's always next year team"..... THE TIGPIES!

Nice try SBW, Thanks but get fucked...
Remember $BW was coming back last year to make amends until that BIG offer from the new super league club LMAO

Don’t really care why he came just can’t wait to see him and all the other new signings in blue and white bring on 2022! Go dogs.

The words " I Love the Roster they are Building " excites me the most, he would have been told of the other main signing targets for sure, mmm I smell cheese.

Yeah, I was thinking that too…perhaps he knows the likes of Vaughan and Cheese are coming and made his decision easier

Wont be long before this thread gets filled with sbw hate, The guys grown up and is respected by most in the league or around it time to get over it people.

When did he grow up? Still jumped from team to team for money with no respect for anyone expect the person with the most money personally never want the bloke back involved with the club

True doggies supporters will never ever forgive sbw for pissing off to France like a coward, then turning up at the Roosters of all things. And his Muppet mate Mundine is still an idiot and will never change ever. I scratch my head why Matthew Johns tries to make Mundine likeable person its a joke, he is even worse than Cody Walker.

we should have signed him for the rest of the year, Its like the club has just given up and happy to get the spoon!
Thats the last thing any club should want, we have a good chance to beat the Tigers Twice and the Sharks which might get us off the bottom.
He will stay at the panthers

I've never met TPJ, but I have met his older brother Tevita who did some concreting work for me last year here in the Capital.

Re his name: His brother said TPJ actually changed his name to Tevita which is their Dads name because he too wanted to carry his Dads name- that's why the Jnr exists.

His older brother & their crew are the nicest most respectful employees I've ever dealt with in all my time in construction. Simply just good people.

Back then, I told his brother that I was a big fan of his brother as a player & wished he would come to the Bulldogs.

I got no issues with all the previous media beat up about TPJ's previous indiscretions, as we all know the media cakes it on. And at the end of the day like all of us when we're young we can all make a mistake or 2. None of his were that big a deal.

On 9 news tonight they said that he was moving back to Sydney, getting married & having his first child.

Personally, I think we've got him at the most perfect time in his life - ready to settle down & prioritise providing for his young family.

Welcome TPJ, can't wait to see you in the Blue & White of the Bulldogs.
