Holdsworth should start the season, he's the only genuine 5/8 we have to choose from other than Barba (although they have very different styles). Barba should be first selected if Holdsworth is injured or out of form, as I see Roberts as no more than a backup centre (would limit his brain explosions), and Groom & Sullivan as very good utilities to cover injuries in a number of positions.

if he can improve his tackling in the summer why not he is an exciting prospect already in attack.

Unfortunatly it tends to take longer than an off season to learn technique. I think he will be given his fair chance at 1st grade through the season but Roberts & DJ will be given 1st crack at it.

Barba will play in the top grade next year but i dont think it will be from rnd 1, he is still available for the u20's but wont be used in that side and will be in the NSW cup if he isnt in first grade

Hello, Happy News Year 09
Bullfrog said if you have props, get some more anyway
We have a nice problem, with who plays 5/8, or so it seams
Ben Roberts nice try v Broncos
at Suncorp 1997
Will have to be at his best form to beat B Marshall to the
Haka
Both Ben's very fortuitous to be involved with an excellent
deck of players
Ben Barba's best position is as a winger or amongst the Halves. He excelled in these Qld comps, just like a leaner Ben Hannant also good anyway
It's nice to have a large pool of talented players for 09
Everyone are working
All the reports from pre have surpassed all expectations
The only thing I know is from
my Qld perspective
Look forward to more positive
Support
1 thing we have for 09 is a better Team
Coach Moore could pick
Terry Lamb as 17 for all I care
Lol
Forever

Footy games of the future,
*Ben Barba v Chris Sandow
They have a nice rivalry since
youngsters
*Benjamin & Marmin Barba as
The Bulldogs Halves

'av a Happy New Year
For 09

I think you have to throw him in there and see if he sinks or swims.

He is outstanding in toyota cup and and another whole year languishing there won't develop his football to the next level. I think he needs to be a regular on the interchange bench to start with and see how he and our other halves perform.

Should start on the interchange bench for start of the season IMO

I don't think Barba is ready just yet and I don't think throwing him in too early last year did his confidence any good. So I would like to see him spend some time in NSW Cup but would love it if there was improvement enough in him during the season to come up to first grade

He looked pretty comfortable to me, the more games he gets the better he will be, it could end up, can we leave him out?

Just like any rookie, and i include Idris in this, he should be eased into FG and get experience before becoming fulltime. While these players possess talent, what they dont possess is experience and they will make more bad decisions and have "brain explosions" more than an experienced player. They will also make more errors in defence.

Bottom line is there is no rush for these players to become fulltime. And who misses out for Barba to start anyway? Like last year Barba will not be a regular starter unless we have injuries. Idris isnt a starter either yet. SAme with Kite. All these players can play, but they arent in the first 17.

From what I have seen he'd be an excellent winger
If you need an answer to your thread, definately 17
Yet to see him at 5/8
Seen him score in the 1st minute in NYC and a hat-trick
You have to see 4 yourself
I have
He's multi-dimensional and a
sight to behold
A real Athlete
From what I've seen
OK
08 finished
Forwards are goodn now
The Halves and Back-line must respond in kind
I'm sure that they would respond now
Confidence still good
Victory is never certain
At the very least all the Bulldogs Squad had and have
the best preparation for 09
A good kick more often than not equals less workload for the forwards
Tezza will be lol
17
I mean if Menzies does wtf
Lol
and has another game for Manly to take the record solely
from Tezza, let's all rally to pick
Tez 17 against Manly
Let's do it for Tez
What are we made of
Anything is possible and there
is a good Bulldogs Squad for
09
With the new recruits, the
talent amongst all Grades and the Management, makes for a
Happy New Year
