It's scientific fact. If it's crap, why are our summers getting longer and longer each year? Why have we been experiencing summer weather in late autumn and spring weather in winter? I guess it's hard to notice the weather changing when you are up your own bum hole....

lol how exactly is it a shit location? Bankwest is like a 10 min walk from Parramatta train station, which is a lot more convenient than the SCG and I would say easier to get to than ANZ for a lot of people considering you have to change trains at Lidcombe. Gone are the days were all dogs fans live in Belmore, so it might be harder for you but it certainly isn't harder for the masses.

IMHO Belmore is only good for one or 2 games a year, games where the opposing team has no one turning up (Melb, Canberra, Titans, Cowboys). Just this last Belmore game we missed like 10 or 15 mins of the game just trying to get in (yes we were there early). The place can't handle big crowds.

No one will miss you not being at Bankwest, the ones who do go will be too busy enjoying Sydneys best stadium to give a shit where you are.

Also I cannot believe the NRL is SO against moving a GF to Queensland that they are going to play a GF at the SCG instead of moving to Suncorp. That to me is absolutely insane. The SCG sucks for NRL, sucks a big fat one in every conceivable way.

IMHO Belmore is only good for one or 2 games a year, games where the opposing team has no one turning up (Melb, Canberra, Titans, Cowboys). Just this last Belmore game we missed like 10 or 15 mins of the game just trying to get in (yes we were there early). The place can't handle big crowds.

Could you imagine the crowd at Belmore in bad weather? There would be lucky to be 4K there.

There faculties for sponsors or fans just aren't good enough anymore. There hasn't been any work done to Belmore since 1996 apart from the training and admin facility which doesn't help anyone on game day.

I don't think it's as simple as that. I too would've liked to see it go to Suncorp (anywhere but Melbourne TBH).

It's all got to do with the pitch. If the NSW Government put in a lot more money into their pitch, and offered the NRL a lot more money to have the SCG host the GF, then obviously the NRL will take it. I think the reason Suncorp didn't get it is because they thought it was a sure-thing, in the bag, signed, sealed, delivered, and as a result, put nothing good into their pitch and were willing to pay next to nothing.

It's a business.

You're a champion mate, love your passion for our club... unlike others who simply forget their roots. And yes on game day (on days I used to go to Belmore) I would make a day of it and dedicate that day to the game and plan everything hours in advance.
