I was concerned as it was, going down to Melbourne next week, but now with all our injuries what is the team going to look like?

What we know: Mann, Taffy, Edwards won’t play. Tracey very unlikely. Patolo? JAC and Wilson might be ok. Mann will be the biggest loss.

So, where does that leave the lineup? Hopefully Wilson and JAC are available and Wilson plays fb. If not Critta fb, JAC & Wilson wings, Kiraz & Xerri centres. Skelton would be a good option but don’t think he’s played much lately?

The forwards aren’t too badly affected. We still have King, Hughes and Curran, Kiks may be in doubt though. Salmon can’t be dropped grrr. Kautoga will play again.

I’d prefer a team like this…

1. Wilson
2. JAC
3. Critta
4. Xerri
5. Kiraz
6. Burton
7. Sexton
8. King
9. Reed
10. Hughes
11. Kiks or Curran if he’s injured
12. Salmon
13. Hutch

14. Hayward
15. Poasa
16. Patolo or Knight if he’s injured
17. Kautoga

Still a solid team which shows how much our depth has improved.

Yep, Critta at fb works too, just gives me heart attacks every time he gets near the ball lol. I’ve never seen Wilson play fb either and don’t know if he has any reps at training, so that might be a risky choice.

I forgot that Max might have an injury too fmd. We’d really miss his workrate.

Yes except for Hutch, he was terrible in both defence and attack yesterday.

Really hope Kikau is fit. We need him marking Katoa / Hughes short ball.

1. Papalii
2. Wilson
3. Kiraz
4. Crichton
5. JAC
6. Burton
7. Sexton
Hutch won't be dropped. Id definitely be giving Papa a crack at fullback, he's our only true FB with Taafe out.
Probably an unpopular opinion but the club should be looking at a player swap for Fox. We have some decent backs and we could strengthen our side with a hard nosed prop

knowing it’s a short term fix until Taafe is back I don’t see why papalli wouldn’t be given a go…

With injuries I would like the team to be:
Papalli
Addo-Carr
Crichton
Kiraz
Wilson
Burton
Hitchinson
King (40+ mins)
Mahoney
Hughes (40+ mins)
Kikau / Salmon
Kautoga
Salmon / Curran

Hayward (hooker/lock cover)
Poasa (30 mins)
Knight (20 mins)
Samrani / Skelton / Xerri (outside backs / extra attacking player maybe beneficial for 20 mins)

Cc uses forwards with short stints already so why not have some outside back cover so if one goes down we don’t depend on salmon playing centre

Yeah maybe if we were fully fit I’d give us a chance but with taffe Mann Preston and potentially Kikau king and Tracey all out it would be a miracle if we got close to beating them

Ciro has definitely put Hutch on notice. There's a reason why Sexton is sitting on the bench and it's not to give Reed a rest.

We’re usually Melbourne’s bogey team despite their spine all available I think it will be close. I don’t see us winning at all with the injuries but I hope we continue to build as a side and take our chances. I really think we should debut Papali, rotating the whole backline will hinder us more than giving a youngster a shot. Melbourne by 10, full strength at home I doubt they drop a game to us after beating the likes of Brisbane and Penrith. Hughes kicking game will have us on the back foot, our general kicking game has to be on point only way we have a chance is grinding this one out.
