Round 24 Team News: Bulldogs Side To Seek Redemption

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will face the Newcastle Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium this Sunday, August 13.

The Bulldogs are fresh from the bye and eager to seek a win over their Newcastle counterparts. The Knights, who are a strong outfit, have won five of their past six games and are now sitting in contention for the finals series.

With tough matches ahead, the Knights will be looking to take full advantage of their home ground fixture, however they will face an almost completely different Bulldogs side than at their last meeting in Round 18.

The Bulldogs have been bolstered by the return of key players, this week headlined by the return of English international Luke Thompson, as well as new recruits Liam Knight and Toby Sexton. Ryan Sutton drops from the line-up as Harrison Edwards moves from the reserves to start at lock.

Thompson will play his first NRL match since a pre-season ankle injury setback. Also returned to the side since the Round 18 loss, Viliame Kikau will be looking to make up for lost time and proved he was back in form in the Club's thrilling 23-22 win over the Dolphins at Salter Oval.

As the Bulldogs aim to break the Knights' winning streak, fullback Jake Averillo will pull on the Canterbury jersey for his 100th Club game.

With this special milestone in mind and a pack hungry for redemption, Sunday's match is set to be a nail-biter.

Got to be a little weary seeing Perham on extended bench …hopefully Kiraz injury he copped last game has healed else can see Ciro pushing Avo to Center to allow Perham to fullback ‍♂

Skelton not on extended :(

Still, this is a side that can beat the Knights - as hot as their form is right now. It is that time of the season where we start upsetting top 8 teams and their finals dreams... and boy do we have something extra to prove against the knights this time around!

Why is Flano there? Make him 18th Man and bring in Hughes for crying out loud, Reed should be fine now.

I think that's a pretty predictable Ciraldo line-up. I thought RFM would be in there over Flanagan but obviously something up with him.
