Because the Roosters board could buy out the entire Cronulla Sharks NRL club with their spare change.

Hutchinson and Verrillis they got special dispensation from the NRL so they could play them, despite having ample replacements already in their squad (more signs of favoritism from NRL HQ).

There are rumours Keary is out longterm due to several concussions.

Well that being the case they have already have 30 registered players...the twenty eight listed on their website and the two development players. Bad luck about Keary though because he IS one of the top 30 and the injury compensation only applies to rep games and absences of a player for greater than 12 weeks. You are right about favoritism because the rule in regards to promotion of development players prior to June 30 is that there has to be NO player in the available roster who can play that position....quite clearly not the case for the Roosters.....

I heard Keary's concussion happened in the Rorters locker room.
Apparently, Keary opened his locker and this BIG brown paper bag fell out and hit him in the head...the bag was really heavy.

HALVES: Roosters played Brock Lamb the day before in NSW Cup. They could have easily had him slot into the halves. No need for Hutchinson to be played.
HOOKER: Butcher could have played 80 minutes at hooker. No need for Sam Verrillis to be played.

Both players Roosters got the okay to play them recently.

I read someone claim Keary was a 6 month injury... so maybe it is worse than expected.
