Topine is listed as both top 30 and development player for 2022.

Noticed that only our 2 superstars have player options in their contract... Matt Burton and JMK..

Doesn’t seem like big money will be freed up in 2022. Vaughan and Asiata wouldn’t be on big money. I guess you could possibly make a play for a spine player. But most likely this will be the team that will take us forward (unless we shop around big contract players). (You can’t release 6 minimum contract players for a smith or Walsh etc because you won’t be able to fill out your top 30 without circumventing the cap).

Allan, cotric, Flanagan, Jackson, Waddell, thompson would clear up sizeable cap space if there is an opportunity for spine players. Will be good to get Stimson and rfm off the books. But yeh. Hopefully we are competitive next year. If we have a season like the tigers this season then it will definitely be another bleak 5 years for us :sleepy: fingers crossed we do crack the 8 and build for better things.

Vaughan on decent money, I think it was reportedly around 400k. We might have enough salary cap for 1 big signing or 2 decent players for 23 but that looks like best case scenario.

The key for our club is signing Burton on a long term contract....we need a competitive team around him otherrwise he won’t hang around....who will be our 7 moving forward? This is going to be the key in keeping Burton

MO is Mutual option. Either the club or player can make a call and what usually happens is if the club wants to re-sign and so does the player they get it done. If the club wants to re-sign and the player doesn’t they are usually released. A MO is a half-way house - a ‘let’s see where we’re at down the line’ with neither the club nor the player having all the power.

Do we make a play for Harry Grant?
He is having cold feet about possibly having to play behind Brandon Smith on the bench

In Round 20 season 2020 was suspended for three games for a hip drop onto Blake Lawrie ruling him out of possible selection for Storm GF team. King didn't get in a single game for the Storm this year due to achilles injury in pre season.

We make a play for both Smith and Grant. They both can't be happy (playing position, minutes, money, etc.). Grant is a marquee player you build your club around.
