But we didn't have to agree to release him to the Raiders in particular. We didn't have to agree to release him at all. Yes it might have been a waste of some cap and money for the rest of this year but many believe it would have been worth it to teach him (and other players) a lesson that they can't just break contracts with us whenever they feel like it. Looking at Cotric, it should be a strength of his. In theory Cotric and DWZ should be two of the best in the NRL in that area (tough hit ups).
