Canterbury's Reimis Smith could be banned for a week unless he successfully challenges a grade-one dangerous contact charge for his tackle on Broncos captain Alex Glenn on Saturday night which forced the veteran forward off with a knee injury.

Smith was the third defender into the tackle, hitting Glenn in the leg as he was standing up.

From nrl.com

What I don't understand is Glenn done the same thing in the game but gets no charge

From what I remember it’s penalty worthy if the player tackles the attacking player below the knees.

Reimis hit him hard but his contact was around Glenn’s thigh

I don’t know why he’d get charged

I hope reimis does get suspended, but ridiculous if he does for that tackle.. not a cannonball tackle when first point of contact is the thigh.

Reimis is going to have one of those JWH like judiciary records soon where all he has to do is look at someone the wrong way and he will get a week because of loading.

The fact that he has been charged shows the double standard at play in the NRL. I’ve seen about 50 of the tackles go uncharged just over the last week. I’ve said it before but Hargreaves at the Roosters does 10 of these per game.

what is the deal with the double standard and why is it always Dogs players getting raw end of the deal, it doesn’t make sense.

I feel it was only because Glenn went off injured. If he got up and played the ball I feel everything would be sweet.

I reckon Thompson didn’t know about the shoulder charge rule until that moment

Remis is such an undisciplined lazy player he needs to pull head in

The tackle was legal (above knee) so weird that he’s been charged. It wasn’t overly aggressive either (as Reimis is a cat)
