your club needs to start setting standards and get rid of the bad culture if use want to win a premiership and be a consistent top 4 team

I hope their standards are never set and they continue to be bottom 8 each year

So when he left the Storm, was it his own doing or was that the story they came up with to get rid of him.

Gone!
Silly boy, he let himself down and he let the club down as well, what a way to go!

This part in the statement stood out to me. What it sounds like is that they knew he had a problem for sometime or suspected it, they offered him the help but he heavily denied it and refused to admit it. If that’s the case, then I hate to say it but this is typical addict behaviour and unfortunately he’s only gonna learn when he hits rock bottom, if he hasn’t already which is sad.
This is obviously why the club didn’t “stand by him”, they always did but there’s always gonna come a time when you can only do so much to help someone only for them to refuse it, even through denial.
Point is, I believe the club knew he had an issue with drugs well before this incident.IMG_7198.jpeg

The standards are bullshit, though. Gus has no qualms about signing players who have done far worse if it’s financially advantageous.
Standards count while they're at the Bulldogs

Standards include training standards, as long as players are willing to step up to our training standards they will stay at the club

Yes it does.

Souths don't have a say. It's all Bennett. It's like Gus & the Dogs.
Yep, we are now a dictatorship. All good for as long as it’s working, I guess.

Shit go by the club. Ridiculous overreaction. Chalk this one up to Mother Superior.
Will not impact on our ability to win games.

i get what your saying bro and agree somewhat but that is professional sport. If you fck up and you are not providing input in line with your wage, its time to go. Best outcome for the club

No. Difference is Xerri owned his mistake, paid his dues and admitted to it. JAC is still actively in denial about it.
Read the club statement. Quite clearly indicates the help was there for those who are willing to take it and be transparent. That’s the issue, not the mistake.

You might be right. But you can’t blame the club for pushing a winger, (well and truly past his best), out the door a year early, if he’s stupid enough to give you an out.

lol they trotted out the same line with Elliott and others. And Elliott had taken serious steps to address his issue. One slip up and he was gone. It’s just PR spin.

Put bums in seats and scored tries others wouldn’t but fekked up one too many times and ran out of credits in the bank.
Another notch in the belt for Gould.

If that’s your end game, don’t hide behind bullshit PR spin about being all about player welfare.
