Lyon is the best 5/8 in the NRL atm. Lockyer is probably second best. He gets QLD and Aus selection by default tbh. Selectors don't have the balls to drop him as per usual. Hop off the bandwagon. Lyon is gunning it.
Right, name ONE game since his return to the NRL where he has dominated a match, man i didn't think you two would be that lost O.O

That or you two must be his roommates or something, he was voted one of the most overrated by the MAJORITY of the RL community last year, he has NOTHING to offer to anyone, if he was as great as you said he was, Manly would NOT have lost the match, neither would they have such poor attack, to score 22 points in two games is PATHETIC

No there's a reason why he wasn't selected for Australian 5/8

There's a reason why he is one of the most OVERRATED players voted upon by the majority of the RL community.

Go back and watch our games then watch the Manly games, Lyon offers nothing because he HAS nothing.

He has turned NO matches on its head since his return to the NRL, and his only GOOD game was against his former club last year, and even then he wasn't the superstar of it.

None of us are deluded, we just don't share you view because from what the past year and these two Rds have shown he has NOTHING
Manly finished 2nd.
We finished 6th.

Why? Better 5/8's.

Why? Better 5/8's.
We lost to Manly by 2 points because of Monaghan

We thrashed Manly by 19 points later on the season

Why?

First 7 games were creditted to Monaghan NOT Lyon

Better halfbacks not better 5/8's

Better defence

Then again you're probably pulling at my socks as well, man you people are just lol

nobody's mentioned a halfback?
Im confident our future Halves paring will be Groom and Roberts/Barba. The earlier Groom gets experience in FG this year the better for our future.

Finch - no way
Cooper -no way
Webb - no way

We currently have an exceptionaly good crop of junior players coming through the ranks.

The only question mark is whether or not a top line half and 5/8 will be amongst them.

With Groom and Barba showing potential we should have a clearer picture by the end of this season.

Prince or Cronk would be nice

I don't see Lyon as a specialist 5/8 imo, anasta/barret are more of your classic 5/8's.

I also don't think there is anything wrong with Ben Roberts being there he is really starting to show us all what he can do.
good call.roberts will have more room now with sullivan darting around the rucks...hes quick, strong, can pass and step and has a champion training him...but holdswoth may not be the man for half...early days

Man, I'm with u. I think Holdsworth is a good player. I just think half is not his best position. I can see him as a hooker (stop laughing everyone) and move Sullivan to half. Holdsworth can guide the team around the park from dummy half - he can throw a direct pass and can kick the skin off the footy. He is also available for lock (and Folkes even played him in the second row last year).
sullivan gives the dogs an explosive threat around the ruck.in effect the defense is in 2 minds now...thus giving more room for the halves to operate.holdsworths main problem is that hes not dangerous and crafty...if groom gets a few runs then you will probably notice.the team is still filling the gaps.

What's with your sarcasim? If you can't understand how much value and experience Lyon can bring to the team as 5/8th, that's your problem.

I'm glad you're not in charge of recruitment then.
roberts is fine.he will have a big year.its the haqlfback im woorried about, not exactly dangerous...and lyons.not a 5/8.hes a centre...no matter where manly put him.
