Not until our spine is strong. I fear we have missed our time and it may be a while. We need to be a top 4 team again first

I don't mean to be a pessimist but we lack the strength in key positions to go all the way, we may cause a few upsets this year but we still lack the class that the other teams have e.g. kicking game, ball playing fullback, organisational half. When was the last time a team won a premiership with a makeshift halfback and fullback? Realistically i think we're still 2-3 years away from winning a premiership. Probably around the time when Abbey and another half back comes through. I maybe wrong, would love to hear your thoughts...

I don't think we're that far away. We've obviously been in and around the top teams (regardless of our crap style) over the last few years.

Whilst I'm not exactly sold on Hasler's style and the club's recruitment recently, I feel confident about the Bulldogs' longevity in the top 8 and the young team we're building.

1 or 2 by 2020 is not out of the question - especially when you look at players that will be retiring from other top clubs which will work in our favour.

As soon as we start saying we are x number of years away we may as well just give up. We have the squad to win it. Anyone that says otherwise just got out of the wrong side of the bed and fell in a pile of sand which then made its way into their vagina.

We are in a very similar situation to what we were in the early 2000's.

You're no a pessimist Moedogg, you're a realist. For us to win he comp depends on a number of things happening at once.

1. Hasler gets us to play attacking football. Not the one out forward hit ups for the first four plays that get us nowhere. With this backed up by a defence that cracks wide open thanks to penalties against and turn over of possession.
2. Our forwards must be aggressive in defence and attack.
3. We have no kicking game so I'd like to see Dane Chisholm at half. He may not be a world beater but I think he can kick a football to the right placees.
4. BMoz and JMoz must be injury free.
5. Our fullback must be a specialist at that position. I don't care if its Kerrod Holland, Hopoate or whoever. Just as long as he is safe in defence and has an effective kick retutn.
6. Sammy P has to go. He has put in some terrific performances for the Dogs but now he is done in by his age.

So there. I know that none of the above will happen but its just my humble opinion.

Buddy what do you mean when you say a fullback that is safe in defence?his not usually in the line of defence.

Unless we rebalance our side, We will struggle to compete with the top sides as the NRL start reducing the number of interchanges further beyond 2016

I think we have a faster team this season and kas and eastwood are the only ones that need most of the interchange but I think we are easily a top 8

If the answer to this question is anything other than "next year" the the club is a disgrace.
Winning is everything.
We should enter every season believing we can win it.

Next year. 1 year for the halves to gel. The sub rule shouldnt effect us as Tolman, Graham, Jackson and Lane can play 80 minutes if needed and TRex can play 80 but he's not a good player at all. Just means most subs will be used on Eastwood, Klemmer, Kasiano rotating mixed in with Brown. Maybe start Beast then bring Jackson on to play 65mins at a higher rate than playing a full 80.

Then beast can be used as a rotational prop with Klemmer and Kasiano.

I think we will win the comp this year. We have 2 of the best, if not the best, wingers in the nrl , the best forwards and 2 highly competent centres .. That's more than half the team which should be enough to carry the side..

Are you predicting BMoz will be on the wing?

behind our forward pack, under Des.... if we fly under the radar.... I'd say 2yrs after Des leaves in the second season under Dymock's control if he hasn't left before then
