Stop trying to be a hero. Just work hard for each play to help your team have a platform to score later.
Take in your environment so you can be guided intuitively to where to put your body when defending.
Only push the pass when you know the play is on and you are not surrounded by defenders who are onto you and the player you are about to pass to.
When you defend, communicate to the right and left of you so you are about creating a wall of defence not a show pony hit because you want attention for yourself.

Stop being selfish and start being a decent team player.
