Assassin's Creed Valhalla has brought in World of Warcraft/Destiny style seasonal stuff. They currently have a Yule (Christmas) celebration where your camp is covered in snow and they have event games. Pretty cool but as buggy as Cyberpunk to the point that I can't complete two of the events 'cause they're bugged.

Also noticed that you can unlock gear using Yule tokens but they take many tokens to unlock. So you basically need to grind the same events over and over again to unlock some crappy gear.

The game is trying to be something it's not.
What you meant to say is that they brought in some bs to try and get you to spend more $$$ on a game you've already invested 50+ hours on lol.

After stepping away from Valhalla for a few weeks it's occurring to me that part of my disappointment with the game is that I never really felt any connection with the settlement. There's the mission to help the kids with the wolf. The missions to work on a romance with the Huntress or the Baker. But not much else that I discovered. They left a lot of letters in huts. But as far as I know they don't lead to anything. The deliveries for the store just seem like they're not worth bothering with when the game is over. And from memory with what I read prior to release I thought that you'd be able to do more outside the animus than the game delivered. It pretty much came down to one mission for Layla and watching a squirrel.

The mini stories with alliance building were often good. And losing some allies towards the end bought a bit of an emotional response. But I still wonder if they forgot to add in something for finding Ubba's potential death site before the final conflict. Tried looking for that unsuccessfully. I'm not keen for a second playthrough just yet.

I picked up Fenyx Rising during the Ubisoft sale (about $49). Quite a fun game. I originally had it pre-ordered and cancelled due to the mixed reviews but after picking it up cheap and playing a few hours, I'm really enjoying it. The comedy is great.

I'm guessing by the lack of price mentioned that it's an expensive chicken warmer.

Ordered FF7 remake from Big W (for $29) late Friday night. By Saturday morning they sent me a notification that it had been posted.

So I've been playing Cyberpunk on my base model PS4. Haven't had any major issues, crashes and what not yet. Graphically it's ok considering the hardware, but definitely nothing spectacular but I wasn't expecting it to be anything like what the next gen and pc levels. Have noticed the occasional frame drop here and there. Occasionally slow to render some areas, especially when driving. Also NPC's or items randomly popping out of nowhere.

Aside from that, i'm still enjoying the game and story. I was going to wait till I got my PS5 to play it but I couldn't wait it out I needed to play something. I'm assuming some of the patches may have smoothed things out a little for the console versions. Playing it on version 1.06.

Biggest thing I noticed my PS4 is still running relatively quiet while running the game.

Last two patches fixed a lot of the issues. You still get occasional 15 fps in certain places but it's a lot better than what it was apparently.

I'm about 6 hours in. It hasn't hooked me yet. I am enjoying it but it's nothing amazing. I think I need to sit down and just play for 10 hours straight to get my head around all the systems.

@Hacky McAxe how far into immortals are you? This is so much better than AC :tearsofjoy:
4 hours in. It's really good. I stopped using the binocular long site thing to spot items. Decided it's more fun just to discover stuff as I go along.

BTW, if you see the meteor get hit by lightning and crash in the distance. Go to it. You get this awesome combat bird thing that does major damage.

It's worth looking into some YouTube videos to fast track whichever skill trees you opt to specialise in. For each of them you'll earn perks etc by doing certain things. I'm heavily invested in the tech tree. Maxed out crafting, just learned how to work on engineering a bit more quickly. Intel will eventually give you some very nice quickhack skills. Early on they're not brilliant. But they'll eventually be very useful in many situations. There are some methods for making unlimited money at the moment via the crafting tree. Just don't pick the skill that auto scraps junk items as there are some junk items worth $750 each and something you can pick up via a side mission that has a loophole so you can sell it for $4k and buy back for $5 repeatedly. Perk points aren't hard to get if you follow some guides. But the blue skill points are limited to 50. So diversifying your skill tree investment might eventually mean you can't pick up certain perks. You can also buy something to wipe the perk points out to reinvest them for $100k but can't clear your skill points once you apply them.

I've put a lot of points into body and Intel as well.

The other big thing to gain is street cred. Will effect a lot of the enhancements you can buy for your body.

I need to spend more time on it. Decided to finish Ghost of Tsushima so I'm playing through that, also started Shadow of the Tomb Raider again 'cause it's such a great game. And playing Super Mario Odyssey, and Hades, and Cyberpunk, and about 10 other games. I really need to focus on one game.
