This article shows why we are a true genuine family club :

Kimmorley settled with new family at Bulldogs ADRIAN PROSZENKO
February 28, 2010
SHARNIE KIMMORLEY never cared much for football.

''No, definitely not,'' said the wife of veteran playmaker Brett Kimmorley. ''I supported what Brett did, but I didn't love footy.''

Everything changed when Brett joined the Bulldogs. It was little things at first. Like when Sharnie was in hospital and the phone calls and flowers didn't stop.

''When I first came here I was really sick and I had all of them - [CEO] Todd [Greenberg], his wife - ringing to see if she could take my kids to the game,'' Sharnie said.

''I'd only met her twice. We've never experienced anything like that. I was in hospital and they were ringing me, along with [coach] Kevin Moore and his wife as well.

''It blew us away, they really looked after us. They genuinely cared, they did things above and beyond that people don't have to do.''

And then there was the time Brett suffered that horrific facial injury. Proof that Canterbury really is the Family Club.

''Todd and his wife rang separately every day, they didn't know either one had rung,'' she said.

''Todd would ring a couple of times a day to see if there was anything they could do. His wife would offer to pick the kids up from school.

''The same with Kevin and his wife. They would send an enormous bunch of flowers every single day, the biggest bunch of flowers I'd ever seen in my life, just to brighten my day. They do stuff you just don't expect.

''Brett and I talk about it constantly. We loved Melbourne, it was very family-oriented down there, but the Bulldogs go above and beyond. They're the best.

''We say [Brett's] finally found his place in the rugby league world. He's so happy where he is and so are we.

''I didn't really like footy up until this year. Now I'm a groupie.

''It's not a club, it's a family.''

Brett Kimmorley has played 284 games across six clubs. The veteran halfback came agonisingly close to pulling the pin before he joined Canterbury. He now has a new lease on life. The 33-year-old isn't sure how much longer he'll play on, although one thing is certain.

''They will never get him out of this club,'' Sharnie said. ''He wants to be involved, whether it be playing, coaching, whatever.

''They'll have to get the police to escort him out. He's not going anywhere.''

awesome read - inspires so much confidence in the Bulldogs especially what they as a team and us as fans have been through over the past 6-7 years.

Can't wait to have BK working his majic behind the scenes, hopefully not for another couple of years yet though!
