VENUE & TIME: ANZ Stadium, Friday April 30, 7.35pm (AEST).
COVERAGE: Channel 9
HEAD TO HEADPlayed 126, Bulldogs 66, Eels 55, draws 5
LAST TIME: Eels 22 - Bulldogs 12 at ANZ Stadium, preliminary final 2009

WALKING WOUNDED: The Eels remain unchanged for this clash with winger Eric Grothe still unavailable due to a knee injury. The Bulldogs were ravaged by injury in their win over the Broncos last Friday night, with centre Josh Morris (eye socket fracture), prop Ben Hannant (knee) and five-eighth Ben Roberts (ankle) all now unavailable for several weeks. Morris was initially ruled out for six weeks, but has penciled in the Round 10 clash with the Dragons as a possible return date. Forward Michael Hodgson made a successful return from injury off the bench last week and will take Hannant's place up front, while coach Kevin Moore has opted for the more experienced Blake Green in favour of Ben Barba in the vacant pivot's role. Utility Dene Halatau (ankle) should be ripe for a return in Round 10.

FORM: While the Eels were still far from their best last Friday night, the one-time premiership favourites showed plenty of grit in fending off the Cowboys for the club's first win in Townsville for 10 years. Parramatta led 12-0 early, but the Thurston-inspired North Queensland side stormed back to lead 18-12 before the Eels finished the stronger, much like they did against the Rabbitohs the week previous. Promising signs. The Bulldogs nailed back-to-back victories against an undermanned Brisbane last Friday night to sneak into the top-eight. It was a spasmodic performance by the Doggies, but there were enough highlights to suggest they are capable of rediscovering the consistent form of 2009 at some stage during this season. Unfortunately, injuries to a couple of key players will hold them back in the short term.

WHO'S HOT: It's been a slow start to the season for Eels prop Fuifui Moimoi, but his efforts over the past fortnight have been on par with some of his career-best work from last season. When Fui's going forward, the Eels are rockin'. Andrew Ryan celebrated his 250th first-grade game in style last Friday night with a win and a solid personal performance. He did drop a couple of early balls, but was involved in tries, topped the tackle count and the hit-ups to be one of the more effective forwards on the field.

WE THINK: The Bulldogs will be out for revenge after losing to the Eels in the blockbuster 2009 prelim final, but their quest will be handicapped somewhat by the loss of some quality players. The offload appears to be part of the Eels' repertoire again, making them a far more dangerous proposition for opposition sides in terms of gaining that vital second-phase play. This is an area where they could have the edge over the Dogs. The stats suggest an Eels' victory, with the club winning five of their past six games against the Dogs and three of their past four at ANZ Stadium. The winner here will secure a hat-trick of wins. Eels by 6.

This is a very, very important win for us!

3 wins in a row then a BYE - Perfect way to make up for all those losses!

If I pray for only 2 wins a season it is vs Parra....
x2 !!!

I hate the Eels something bad.
