I get what you mean but Presto played the majority of the season next to Burton last year and it didnt factor much tbh. Burton just needs to calm the fcuk down with the ball and read the game better.

Presto is killing it on the right, already striking a combo with Hutch... I think just leave it and hopefully they can sort their shit out on the left.
I have practically zero faith in that. If it was up to me he would've been trialed at fullback the moment he walked into the club and if he failed there his ass would be sent to the centres where he looks far more comfortable. He runs a line and attacks space as well as any back in the game. Can't say the same about his playmaking..

I dont even know how people find the time to go and watch training sessions lol lifes too short
So you won’t go to a training session and you won’t go to a game but you’re still qualified to gob off on a forum and (allegedly) at the AGM. No wonder the strike rate doesn’t climb out of the cellar :-).

Interesting to hear Hutch is getting the edge over sexton. I do think Sexton has higher upside but defence is a worry. Wonder if Hutch is there to tighten up defence as much as anything else. For that reason especially if we get a few injuries I can see Turpin making the 17 as a tackling machine.

We have to spend X% of our cap so I would not be surprised in the slightest if certain players on short-term deals are on decent overs.
You always do this about players being on overs lol

You said when we signed JAC that he was on massive overs because he had a clause to play fullback. He hasn't once played fullback lol

Its the same people on here that said we bought Fox to play fullback now its Crichton's turn because of the dollars! Lol
They also have the same fascination that we have signed all these new players and allll of them have to fit in the 17...

Have faith... Some of the best playmakers a hole runners, always have been, most recently Cleary and Walker. Thats because they understand the importance of giving the playmakers a runner into space so he knows it, just needs to be the passer not the runner.

Regardless Burton's name is on the wall, everybody including himself knows it, if he doesn't pull his head this season when we are on top in games then there are plenty around to accommodate his position.

I don't recall saying anything about a fullback clause. But he's on overs, never should've signed him.

Or because he's an outside back and not a playmaker..

Hutchinson literally gets the nod over Sexton because he is the safe option to partner with Burton and he is experienced, organises / talks... All of which Burton does not. So sadly even though Sexton is the better player, he will miss out as the club wants Burton @ 6.

Hahaha come on brother. The bloke has been scoring meat pies for fun for us. Without some of his intercepts or long range tries we would've lost multiple more games.
I agree he is a bit of a pelican and not up to the standard of his Melbourne days.
Also, just quietly, he's a freaky man, doesn't that make your excited at all? I know it gets Gus harder than a sheet of Viagra!

Glamour signings like JAC and Crichton on overs should never have happened. Key position signings need to be sorted first. If we keep operating like this we will never come close to even top 8 finish let alone premiership threateners

He averages just 0.43 trys per game. Mitch brown had a better strike rate for us from a similar sample size

JAC also offers nothing coming out of yardage which imo should be a must for the modern winger

Sexton while at the Titans forced plenty of line drop outs.
So the rule change will mean that opposition will take short line drop outs all the time. Which we would have a 50-50 chance of regaining, potentially negating Sexton's best asset.

Overall im concerned about how this rule change will effect alot of young halves short kicking game when attacking the line.
It won’t affect us at all. You’re making out that forcing a dropout will be a bad thing. If more teams decide to try short dropouts because of the new rule, good luck to them. How is that bad? If they don’t get it right, the ball goes to us on the 10m line. It used to be a penalty. Stuff all difference tbh. It still penalises the team dropping it out when they get it wrong. It’s just a different type of penalty.

Legitimate reasons for 2023’s dismal results have been explained many times, no pre season for many due to WC and surgeries, injuries, being forced into using rookies who weren’t ready, still a heap of Barrett’s lazy money ball players in the team etc. but these legitimate reasons don’t seem to mean anything to you or the naysayers, you all choose to ignore them ..

You base the majority of your comments on previous years, especially last year, it’s 2024, we’re heading into a new season with a lot of new players, we also have a new assistant coach in JT who is, going by people who actually attend training sessions and see what’s going on for the new season, apparently bringing a lot of new ideas and discipline to the team .. also every player knows they’re on notice ..

Yes it’s hard based on past results, but how about going into the new season with a little positivity, and then if the players don’t perform rip in …

Your negativity gets cut some slack because you’ve been on TK a long time … but it’s getting old ..

There’s a lot of people on here who want to be positive about the new players and they’re looking forward to a much better season, yet some feel it’s their mission to crush any positivity or hope ..

There’s no future to living in the past …
