He partnered Burton in the halves for NSW in under 19’s origin a few years back

Pretty sure Taafe has never played an nrl game at halfback so would be shocked if this was even a consideration.

He would be a massive defensive liability in the front line

After watching the Tigers put on an easy win on the Sharks, I wonder why we can't put away better teams when it matters.

The Bunnies will be out for a win on Friday, and the officials will feel the pressure. The media loves the Bunnies, and will be lifting expectations for a big comeback.
Home ground advantage makes a big difference mate.

I reckon if that game was played at a lifeless Accor stadium with 12,000 fans then the score line is nowhere near as dominant

As I said in another post, his only drawback is that he is light, and has no weight or bulk to break out of tackles.

On the plus side, he has speed, can pass, and is a good back up player.
Nothing surer than Rabbits targetting him and totally knowing his flaws (and attributes). Picking the right players for different opposition should see Tracey come in as our fullback.

IMO It was very quiet at first. You can tell it was because of our form. The crowd got more vocal as the game went on. It was such a vibe!
About time the NRLol and their refs and betting agencies realised a strong winning Bulldogs team is much stronger and better for the league.

Great win. Good to get off the mark. About time.
But to put it into perspective, the dragons put on a similar scoreline against them a few weeks and have been flogged in 2 straight games since.
Titans were absolutely dreadful yesterday.
I am still concerned about our attack, especially in the opposition 20.
Burton is still not engaging the line and passing to create.
Hopefully they get a bit of confidence from yesterday.

Good assessment NBD.
I'm sure thats just how the players and staff will be treating this win.
Deserved win and worked hard for it.

for those who aren’t aware of it,
Keeping a team to 0 is a very difficult feat. It was last achieved at Belmore in 1996.
The team we played that day was the Illawarra Steelers.
The captain that was Simon Gillies.
Special kudos to our team who have defended really well yesterday.
Stephen crighton will also be in the books as captain of a bulldogs side that kept a team to 0.
Huge test next week vs bunnies let’s all do our bit by going to the game and out numbering them by 1/4 crowd wise ,this is the time to avenge all those Good Friday losses we have copped.
Our attack hopefully will revolve more as long as our defence stays resolute.
Point of note after three games in 2023 our defence was -7.
In 2024 -5, so we are heading in the right direction .
I’m assuming the fox comes back in the team for Friday?
I have Friday on my mind …

I don't think Taafe has succesfully taken a contested bomb in all 3 games and it is definitely a weakness that we need to fix. We can't keep giving the ball back to the opposition so close to our line

Taafe has enthusiasm and plenty of energy but he isn't contributing that much to the team and I think eventually will be "bombed" out of the team

CC will surely stick with him this week but for me Tracey should be fullback

It's a lot easier to "put away" a team when;
You have 53% of the possession
They only Complete at 67%
When they have 63 Missed and Ineffective Tackles
They make 16 Errors
The Penalties and On reports are 9 to 4
They only Defuse 59% of your bombs

The Tigers didn't win that game, Cronulla lost it.

I’m assuming the hoodoo of belmore has been lifted ,let’s make the second game there later this year even better .
Only 12,000 fans ??? Where was everyone should of been more
It was against the Tits though. Plus Sat 3pm is a bit of a dead zone (my guess on that, I don't have any stats to back that up).

Maybe they read too much into the negativity and doomsday rhetoric.

I kept believing, it was more of an effort to get there with the track work happening. It was a day out and the Hasler chant with 5mins to go was a crack up. Also whoever got the guitarist back for pre match entertainment is a legend. He got the crowd pumped.

Against the titans so absolutely no away team supporters. Also a lot of negativity floating around. Hopefully that’s over.

How long since we kept a team to zero at all? Belmore was 1996 but I can’t remember the last time this happened at any ground.
