That’s the opposite from what I’ve been told from one of the participants
and if he was 16 why was he breaking the law being in a nightclub?

UPDATE:

Warriors player Josh Curran has been charged following an incident at a nightclub which saw a teenager lose his front teeth earlier this month.

The alleged assault happened on NRL grand final day at a nightclub in Port Macquarie - a coastal town 400km north of Sydney.

Police investigated a 16-year-old boy allegedly being assaulted and having his mobile phone stolen at the nightclub, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Curran, who made his debut at the Roosters in 2019 and has played 38 NRL games, was charged this week.

“Following inquiries, investigators arrested a 23-year-old man after attending Manly Police Station on Wednesday,” a police statement read on Friday.

“He was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and larceny.

“The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 7 December.”

The alleged incident reportedly occurred at 3am.

RGBH with backup charge of AOABH, and a larceny charge.

They'll probably try and get him to plead guilty to AOABH and have RGBH dropped.

If he gets done for RGBH - it's most likely career over and that will carry a sentence over 12 months most likely.
If he gets done for AOABH - it's likely he'll just get a good behaviour bond and possibly community service (thus saving his NRL career).

Stole the kids phone? Must've had some footage on there of Curran doing something dodgy you'd think.
If Curran was a Rabbitoh or a Rooster it'd wouldn't have gotten this far.

New update

A nightclub incident involving New Zealand Warriors forward Josh Curran is under police investigation after a teenager lost teeth in the affray.

Police are investigating a report that a 16-year-old boy was punched by a man in the early hours of Monday morning at a late-night venue in the coastal NSW town of Port Macquarie.

Several men were ejected by security following the alleged assault inside the Level Up nightclub.

The teenager had his front teeth knocked out during the assault, according to 7NEWS.
Police released a statement to news.com.au confirming an incident took place at a Port Macquarie nightclub.

Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District are investigating reports of an alleged assault which occurred at a nightclub on William Street, Port Macquarie, about 3am yesterday (Sunday 2 October 2022).

Police have been told a 16-year-old boy was punched by a man.
“Inquiries are continuing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
Police are conducting their own investigation using witness accounts and CCTV footage, but have yet to formally charge Curran.

Seven reports the alleged victim suffered serious injuries and is helping police with the investigation.
What was a 16 year old doing in a bar? Don't you need to be 18 to enter a bar?
