Opinion People whinge about our cap sombrero while Sharks chase Paps and Broncos chase Hunt

F..king does my head in reading opposition fans on Dogs Facebook fan pages complaining about us having a salary cap sombrero.

Same dickheads should be asking how the f..k can the Sharks be chasing Paps after spending a MIL on AFB and upgrading Trindall big time and Nikora while they also have a million dollar half in Hynes and 4 -5 other first grade quality props. Their centres and wingers wouldn't be real cheap either. Talakai is on decent coin also.

F..king Broncos can seriously afford Ben Hunt after just upgrading Walsh to a MIL a season F..king LOL.

We have half a team of budget buys in
Connor Tracey (around 300K mark you would think) who was second fiddle to Will Kennedy who now isn't good enough for the Sharks apparently
Blake Wilson (150-250K for next year)
Bronson Xerri (250-300K). Would be on minimal at the moment after returning from 4 years out
Jacob Kiraz wouldn't be on huge dollars either. Maybe 350-400K
Toby Sexton would be lucky to be on around 350K. Yes looking for an upgrade in future but gets an average wage for 2025
Kurt Mann wouldn't be on much after being unwanted at the Knights. Maybe 350-400K
Jacob Preston, Max King, Samuel Hughes all on average wages and remember Curran wasn't wanted at the Warriors so he'd be on average also. Even Mahoney they said was around 600K, not close to a mil.

Only decent paid players we have really is Crichton, Burton and Kikau and even these 3 are in the 800Ks reportedly, not a MIL

Didn't you know our starting 17 are worth $17 million.
When you do well in a season, all of a sudden all our players are million dollar players.

Jealousy breeds ignorance my friend!
 
Are we one of the few teams without a million dollar player?

Us and once were's are the only teams I can think of.

According to SMH his 2025 contract was "worth upwards of 900k for 2025".

He was probably on a mil when you factor in third parties, St Merge probably fudged the figure so the fans wouldn't blow up being a marquee flop for many years.

Exactly. You throw in AFB and potentially Paps next to Hynes and now you’d think trindal will get a nice pay day soon if not already. All their juniors will be ready for pickings. Maybe get Gabriel back :p haha.

Personally I think it’s just low level journalism.

Sharks just had an article last week how Kennedy might be let go as they are feeling the pinch with retention and have a couple great young kids like Atkinson or whatever and with him and hynes able to cover 1/6/7 with trindall the other piece staying.

Next week oh don’t worry about how Kennedy might have to go let’s pay double to papen…

So true. That’s what happens with media too. They publish what they want not what necessarily is true. It’s a form of entertainment. Not really spreading or factual information :p
 
Sharks are a real threat to sign Paps. From Paps point of view they would be more attractable due to their stronger roster. Seriously if Paps chooses the Sharks over the dogs that woyluld be fuked and really question our,ability to attract elite players to our club.

We could debate for days whether or not the Sharks have a better roster than ours. But more to the point they are at their peak whereas we are on the rise, a rapid but well managed climb up the ladder that will see us back to our true long term position.

Their 'peak' is making the top 4, they are never a chance of winning not this year not next year. Fluked one premiership in 40 years
