It's an interesting proposition...and comparable (other than the money figure) to what we did with JR....
Let's face it. JR has been brought back to the club to remind us (but also indirectly make it known to our current halves) what it is like having abit of x-factor or pizazz in your spine. He is there for Flanno and Burton to perhaps pick up some x-factor skills and come out of their robotic shells.
Now Pearce might be able to spark something in the Tigers halves. If anything, they are the opposite of our halves and are too trigger happy and not patient enough.
It could work even as a stop gap. But it can only work in the same way we have done with JR. It can't be an expensive signing. It has to be essentially minimum wage otherwise it's a SC disaster.
The reality is, JR cannot play full 80mins and Pearce has proven he can't even stay injury free to last half a season.
So it makes no economic sense for the Tigers to get him on big money, but it certainly makes sense as a band aid solution that could result in improved quality of play from their halves going forward.
