We need to look elsewhere for players with speed and power. We need to look at other countries for talent. Did you guys all know that two players for the Storm are from PNG. Justin Olam and now drum roll - Xavier Coates is from PNG too. Parramatta have Sivo from Fiji and comes with power too. Ideally we need a few player with speed and not afraid to get into the tough physical part of game. Surely we can find players like these that are not on anyones radar but only because they haven’t been noticed before. Maybe they are already looking???

We can't develop players who have come from rugby league systems, what makes you think we're going to develop blokes from PNG? Fuck were a shambles :tearsofjoy:
Well if the Storm can do it, why can’t we. I’m sure they will be cheaper too

Okunbor is related to the front office. I think they call it Nepotism. Also - do we just give up in these countries? Look at some of the surprise packets. Semi Radradra from the Eels too. Some of these discovered gems are as hard as nails too.

It doesn’t matter who we get. The team will still be shit. And we will continue to be shit trying to copy the way other teams play. Until we get a coach who understands how to bring out the best in our players and play our own style of Rugby League to suit the strengths of the players at our disposal then we will continue to be also-rans and just make up the numbers.

100% agree we need a new coach. Baz is not good at merging talent and changing plays. They must be average at training, the plays don’t look much different each week. Look at Cronulla for example. New coach and a few new players and look what they can do.

You don’t need to develop png boys just give ‘em the ball and let ‘em go png loves rugby league more than we do and every Papuan kid I ever played with was ready to die for a win, you can’t coach that shit.

Gould is on the right track with the Jnr dev. Whether the kids PNG, Fijian or any just need to bring them into good pathway at early age.

PNG is a borderline third world country so it’s no surprise their rugby league club is struggling in the Qrl but that doesn’t reflect on the quality of the players to be found in PNG.
