Kautoga, Faamasuli and Hughes, made me a lot more confident in our middle.
Gus said some of those boys will surprise and I’m beginning to believe.
Kitty was good, was lazy last season in cup and was moved to the middle.

That’s an exciting youth. How good was kuatoga and faamasuli. Hayward Hughes Sarami sexton Todd and xerri were very pleasing too.

Knight was fucking shit.
Knight looked very average with ball in hand. Slowest player on the park.

Defended hard though I will give him that.

I was impressed mainly by kautoga and posa, salmon surprised also. Hutchison was good but sexton poses a bigger s threat with speed and deep into the line, no one impressed me more than hayward, control it all like a 250 game veteran.
The hunger and unity I haven’t seen for a few years also.
Well done to all
Hayward was composed and impressive.
Hope this young man gets some more opportunities. It’s almost like why did we sign Turpin?

Problem is increasingly likely to be what to do with Burton.
He needs a run in reserve grade. Only thing that will motivate him to pull his finger out.

If he doesn't like it happy for him to move on and spend his money better elsewhere

Happy we won. Lots of the new boys went well!

Burton....hmmmm
Mahoney.......Younger bloke looked better!
Knight...... Hopefully just one of those nights!

Not getting a fat yet tho..... we only beat a B/C grade storm team.

This is true, that was the storm b grade side but that b grade side would have put 50 on last years bulldogs side.

Burton has his moments but I just don’t think he’s a half when we need him to be. Same left side bomb , no urgency.
Was playing in slow motion in a bad way the difference in speed to the line when hutchy got the ball was stark nowhere near as good but reminded me of Walsh’s acceleration at the line

Remember a few years ago that teacher went well at hooker during a trial and got picked for round 1 only to be deported overseas after a few rounds . This is what this thread reminds me of .
