A recent reunion with some of the original Dogs of War: Premiers 1984, 1985 and 1988 and Runners Up 1986.

Standing: Mick Potter, Joe Thomas, Andrew Farrar, David Gillespie, Peter Tunks, Daryl Brohman, Paul Dunn, Paul Langmack, Warren Ryan (coach, sitting).

How good was it being a Dogs fan in those days!

It is Andrew farrar in the background. Didnt recognise him at first.
These guys would still do a better job than Elliott and Napa...
You’re right. Edited. Thanks.

"Nothing prepared him for what was to come at Canterbury, under Coach Warren Ryan, recalls Currie.

We used to train until our eyeballs bled".

Years ago i had an awesome half hour chat to Tony Currie at his tyre shop business up here in Brissy. Awesome guy with so many stories and insights from back in the day.

Def one of my favourite players. Was very disappointed he moved back to Brissy.
I work with one of his nieces. She has 3 boys and all 3 will be good players.

(Brisbane Dogs fans get your tyres at Tony's :grinning: )

Mick Potter was a gun fullback tough as nails, underrated and forgotten by most but not by dogs fans!
A gun fullback is correct.

Dally M Player of the year in 1984 with us & again in 1991 with the Dragqueens - and multiple Fullback Of The Year awards.

Great player.

Still looks fit enough to play, maybe a few less hot dogs than Brohman & Gillespie.

Cement still looks scary!
As a young Back Rower growing up, this guy was my hero - I tried to model everything I did on how he played, especially in defence.

Well Ba was also my hero but unfortunately I didn't have his skill.

All these pre-madonna's complaining about the current tackle crackdown should go & check out the way that Cement tackled.

When he would hit, they would stay hit & hurt - much tougher than the crap they're dishing out nowadays.

I just loved it, simply loved seeing him iron blokes out on the field.

And he never did it hitting them high, straight around the guts.
