There’s a lot of downtime on night shifts most of the time you’re really just required to be there “in case”.
Coffee and tv are essentials, when you’re asking someone to stay up for 14 hours when you would normally be sleeping.

I can’t eat while watching the footy. In fact I can’t do anything.
Lately, anything in my reach when I’m watching a dogs game, invariably winds up getting tossed at the fucken tv.
