I am so grateful Ciraldo has not entertained any of that bullshit either
...however, he was super-quick (greased lightning) to jump on the "we just don't have the cattle" bandwagon (also a feature of the past half-decade of failure).
What we have had is poor leadership, poor systems, poor recruitment, poor coaching.
Yeah, our roster has never been "stacked", but it was always decent enough that adequate coaching should have been able to make it competitive.
We're "rotating" the roster again for 2024 (I am sure it will work...this time).
Until the "leadership" searches within & solves the conundrum of why "inadequate" players leave and improve at other clubs, while our "gun recruits" come here and suddenly look like duds, Groundhog Bulldog Day will persist...

The game vs Broncos at Belmore highlighted that. Broncos depth and reserve players were a class above most of our current cattle.

So you believe this roster is good enough? You are having a laugh if you think so.

Nope. It's clearly not "good enough" (to make the top 8#), but it should have performed (much, MUCH) better than it did.
It's not a spoon/bottom 4-5 roster. It easily had the talent to be 9-12. It certainly shouldn't be throwing up -331.

Regardless, it's not so much position, or how many wins/losses, it was the performances themselves. No defence, no resilience, no attack. These guys underperformed and it isn't because they have no talent. What we did have was poorly coached. Until we "get that", we'll be turning "NRL players" into "Not NRL players" again in 2024.

# Top 8 should be our bare minimum; what we "achieve" in our off years while we're rebuilding for Top 4 and GF Wins.

It was really funny seeing the niff nuffs saying "Tigers are better than us, they're more competitive". This is exactly what we were doing in those years, start the season horrible, out of finals contention within the first 6 weeks. Beat teams when the pressure is off. The difference is Tigers failed to scrape a few wins when they were competitive after their season was dusted.

This season followed a different pattern to previous years. We weren't dead and buried in the first 6 weeks. We won 3/6 to start. In years gone by we'd be lucky to have even 1/6.
Yep agreed mate. I don’t think it matters how you end the season when you are out of contention.

Look at us in 2019. We played the last third of the season playing like a top 8 team. We then won 6 out of our next 42 games in 2020 and 2021.

Creates a false sense of security.

Broncos this year is another good example. Died in the ass last year but at least put themselves in contention during the season. Made the next step this year
