For those that like their history, there is the classic story of how the Emperor Nero fiddled whilst the great fire of Rome ravaged the city leaving thousands dead and the town in ruin.

It is a commonly used phrase in today's business environment and used to highlight leaders of businesses that sit on their hands and do nothing whilst their business slowly implodes.

This is the best way to describe our board - all style, no substance and whilst there is no action, our club dies a slow death.

This board was elected on the promise of returning it to the family club and being a competitive force - how well has that worked out boys?????.

The disappointing thing is, that it is not just one issue or one bad decision but a whole series of consistently bad decisions. So much for their football nous, their Bulldogs heritage, their deep understanding of fans and the community and their business skill.

Now would be a good time to show it. Talk is cheap, action matters.

Good points. It is sad to see the direction our proud club has taken over the past few years. You are right; if the problems are not addressed now and in a proper manner we are going to be in for some very lean years indeed and if we are not careful to the brink of being just a team making up the numbers much like Newcastle is at the moment.

In our case it's more like Auntie Raelene plays the fiddle, Des burns down the club and culture what Bullfrog built, while the board members sit around roasting marsh mellows!!!

I found a good comparison to Hasler today.
Tito talking about the Austrian army:
"It wasn't much of an army. It relied on drill, old formulas, and rulebooks; soldiers were not allowed any initiative..."
If thats not Hasler, then I don't know what is!
Tito ( Josip Broz ) was a great man!!! But the same could not be said for those that followed after him. Nikola kojo said it best "I pity the country were politicians are rock-stars."

Actually the only bad move the board made was looking at the resume of Castle and thinking she actually had the credentials to make the club great.

Who are the Christians in this analogy that Nero blamed for the fires and had them executed?
Nero is castle/Hasler,
I guess the Christians in this an analogy is completion rates?
