Nathan Brown's manager has played down suggestions the former St George Illawarra coach is in line for the vacant Canterbury-Bankstown position.
Brown, who is currently coaching English Super League club Huddersfield, has made no secret of his desire to return to the NRL, three seasons after leaving the Dragons, but George Mimis said it is too early to be linking his client's name with the Bulldogs.
Canterbury told Kevin Moore his services would not be required in 2012 earlier this week, prompting the 45-year-old to walk out on the eve of his side's clash with the Warriors in Auckland on Friday.
And despite admitting the Bulldogs position would be an enticing prospect for Brown, there has been no discussions about his availability.
"At some point in time Nathan has made it well known that he wants to return to the NRL publicly and privately, the Bulldogs thing is extremely fresh and as such there has been no dialogue," Mimis told AAP.
"We speak with clubs all the time about a range of matters, whether it be coaches, players and commercial matters, and I am sure if the Bulldogs approach us then we would sit down with them.
"They are an extremely strong club the Bulldogs, but the situation there is only 24 hours old and they have not given any indication as the direction they want to go in.
"Things will evolve and it will take a natural course, it is not really a case of us putting his name to them, it doesn't really work like that."
New South Wales coach Ricky Stuart has been linked with the role, with NSWRL general manager Geoff Carr admitting they would not be able to match an offer from an NRL club for his services.
Stuart has one more year left on his contract and is keen to return to club coaching, despite a disappointing end to his tenure with Cronulla.
Former Parramatta coach Daniel Anderson is also available.
Anderson, who guided the Eels to the 2009 grand final and the Warriors to the 2002 showpiece, also enjoyed great success with English side St Helens.
His manger Jim Banaghan refused to say if Anderson was interested in the job, but said it was likely to be on the agenda when he speaks to his client over the weekend.
