Queensland State of Origin forward Nate Myles has signed a three-year deal with the Sydney Roosters that will keep him at the NRL club until the end of 2012.
The 23-year-old prop says he's spurned bigger offers from other clubs, including a million dollar deal with the Cowboys, because he felt a sense of loyalty to the last-placed Roosters.
"I think it's a good club to be at, at the moment," he told reporters on Monday.
"We have a really young side and I want to be a part of that."
The Roosters have lost eight of their past nine games, including last Saturday's heartbreaking 24-20 loss to the Gold Coast in Gosford.
They are yet to re-sign coach Brad Fittler, but Myles said that did not deter him.
"He's a good coach, I just think we all need to step up a bit and play some good footy like we did on the weekend."
Myles is certain to be named in the Queensland side for Origin II in Sydney when the Maroons selectors announce their side on Tuesday.
