Gus tried to bring him to the roosters but Stuart didn't want to because of the respect he had for the club. Gus seen this kid had potential.

Worst mistake in the clubs history with daylight second .... The talent was BLATENTLY obvious from the get-go.

No one was to know he would become an immortal, but he was two or three levels above Shifty, who himself was a star as he progressed through the ranks a few years earlier.

I still get pissed off thinking about it.

Probably cost us two or three premierships.

To think we had three generational talents (SBW, Barber) who could have been in the same team. SIGH :astonished:
