How many TV's do you have at home? Almost all streaming service apps have the ability to chrome cast to your TV (Chromecast units are about $50), so you no longer have to watch on such a small screen.
2, one new one and one that you'd classify as a boat anchor with buttons. And I didn't think you could chrome cast NRL games from your phone to a TV? Didn't Cancer Man Murdoch make that a stipulation in the latest negotiations forcing us all to watch full screen games through his Poxtel?

AFAIK, most streaming apps allow you to chrome cast easily (well, I know you can on Foxtel Go, youtube, Netflix and pornhub), so i assume you can for Kayo. You just need a HDMI port on your tele.

(i say that as someone with almost zero tech knowledge).

Thanks for that, I've taken a screen shot of what you wrote so I can show my son and maybe he can make sense of it. You're talking to a Techno dolt, but thanks for trying. lol

Yep, spot on.

I'll be getting a 4k Ultra Chromecast soon for Kayo as apparently Samsung TV's haven't got the app.

Kayo's streaming capabilities doesn't have a bar on Netflix's. So make sure you have a good connection for Kayo. (do the free trial).

I’m running ADSL 2 with Kayo at 12-18mps and have never had a problem.

Foxtel can suck a dick. Gave them the flick years ago. When I challenged them on why I constantly had to pay for the entertainment package every month, which I did not use, just to watch sport, they said it was their business model. And that’s exactly right. They knew years ago they were sinking and all they had of value was sport content so instead of getting more viewers they thought they’d rape and pillage the ones they had already. FK U FOXTEL.

Tbh its 10 years too late.

Too many idiots who work full time, barely having time to watch t.v who are paying to keep these crooks alive!

If you conducted a survey you'd find over half the people will tell you "oh I don't have time for foxtel, I'm always busy, I just pay my bill because its what I've been doing for the last 20 years, I don't know any better".

Forgot to mention. We have foxtel at work.

You know which channels are watched the most besides sports and A&E?

You guessed it.. free to air!

whilst I do agree, it's not really a cause for celebration seeing as it's just as crappy of companies who are taking them out

2 things:

Kayo and Foxtel are the same company.
If Foxtel/Kayo dies/suffers, the result could be shittier NRL coverage. I'm not going back to watching footy and cricket full of ads with shit commentators.

i hate what Murdoch has done to this country's democracy, but be careful what you wish for.

If Netflix and streaming services died, people would probably commit mass suicide because they never learned how 13 reasons why ended :yum:

If Foxtel died, some other company would acquire streaming services.

I haven't been a subscriber to pay tv for years because their content was limited even when I had the full package. I dare say that they retained the business model of paying as little as possible on their content until competition forced them to invest more than the minimum they had to to stay ahead of FTA TV just slightly. When you are paying $70 per month 12 to 15 new movies a month is less value than renting DVDs. Even the comedy channel offered endless repeats of the same content. It was good being able to watch every game of league I wanted to. But that's the only sport I follow, so outside of the NRL season I found that I didn't even have an excuse to be paying for it. I opted out when they started to double dip by throwing advertising income to their revenue streams. My initial thought was they're a bunch of greedy bastards.

So they created their own demise many years ago by being greedy. Some customers will be loyal to a brand, but I think a large portion don't fail to recognise that they didn't improve the quality and amount of content until competition forced them to. It's actually better value now to buy DVDs that you might want to watch again when it suits you.

On top of the lack of content, it was also pretty difficult to get them to fix anything promptly when issues arose. And the cost of the hardware also meant that you had to go on a fixed contract so their outlay was paid for.

With many of the new streaming services they actively support the creation of new content. On top of that they're working with technology that allows them to avoid the expense of providing hardware that breaks by relying on the NBN. I don't watch enough tv or movies to bother with the streaming services. But he'll will freeze over before I ever go back to supporting Foxtel.
